Babylonians might have invented mathematics; however, Abu Jaafar Mohammad Ibn Mousa Al Khwarizmi was the brilliant mathematician who perfected it (Kéchichian, 2013). He was undoubtedly one of the greatest mathematicians in the world noting one of his greatest works to be the “Hisab Al Jabr wal-Muqabalah” (The Book of Integration and Equation), which introduced the use of Indo-Arabic numerals that, over time, came to be known as algorithms (Kechichian, 2013). He was noted for many achievements including the invention of "aljabr" (Algebra) and introduced many different mathematical deductions and mechanisms that improved our knowledge and understanding in the present and later in the future. His manuscripts, recorded with scopes and longitudes, urban communities, mountains, oceans, islands, topographical districts, and waterways. The original copy incorporates maps which all in all are more precise than those of many scientists such as Ptolemy, who is a scientist whose views and work were corrected by Al-Khawarizmi (Syed, 2015). Moreover, Al Khwarizmi also composed essential work about Astronomy, covering timetables, computing genuine positions of the sun, moon and planets, tables of sines and tangents, round stargazing, celestial tables, parallax and eclipse computations, and visibility of the moon. In spite of the fact that his astronomical work was in light of that of the Indians, and the vast majority of the qualities from which he built his tables originated from Hindu cosmologists, al-Khwarizmi was also probably inspired by Ptolemy's work as well. Al-Khwarizmi performed definite computations of the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets, and did various eclipse counts.
