Al-Razi’s Books
Al-Razi was considered one of the most prolific authors who have written on numerous subjects. He has produced more than two hundred outstanding books in various fields of science, out of which about half deal with medicine and twenty-one books about alchemy. He also wrote on physics, mathematics, astronomy and optics, but these writings have been lost and could not be preserved. Some of his medical works were translated into Latin and European languages and used as textbooks for several centuries. Through translation, Al-Razi became famously known among different European practitioners and his medical books profoundly influenced medical education in the Latin West. Moreover, his involvement in writing on different subjects has greatly influenced the development of science and medicine.

In this book, he identified the drug components of the plant, animal, and mineral substances and their utilization in treatment and he listed some of the equipment’s and tools needed by an alchemist such as thongs, cutter, stirring rod, beakers, glass funnel and utensils. Moreover, he described seven alchemical procedures and techniques used in transmutation, such as sublimation and condensation of mercury, precipitation of sulfur and arsenic, calcination of minerals like gold, silver, copper, lead, and iron, and waxing. He also described the use of solvents, heat, and liquid mordant that colors lesser metals. An example from the book is when al-Razi gave the procedures of coloring a silver object to gold and the reverse method of returning to its original color. The process of gilding and silvering of other metals such as copper, iron and calcium is also described as well as how the colors will last permanently for years without

Doctors are prominent figures in many aspects of the world. They influence not only science, but history, math, art, religion, and even to politics. Horace Newton Allen was a medical missionary who went to Korea. Not only did he save thousand of lives, including those of a prince, but had managed to connect two countries, America and Korea. Horace first practiced his medical skills after gapsinjeongbyeon, when Prince Min Young Ik was badly injured.
It also affirms the Muslims’ aspiration towards better lives for themselves, describing how the Arab leaders wanted their illnesses treated by competent doctors, not by random citizens. This prompted the establishment of a medical examination for potential doctors, which definitely had a positive effect on the Muslim medical field, based on the incredible medical advances made during this time. All of these advances also resulted in the creation of many new medical books. Document 3 describes a multi-volume medical encyclopedia, The Canon of Medicine, that was particularly influential. These books, once translated into European languages and passed onto the doctors of Europe, was the standard for medical knowledge in schools until the 18th century, proving how advanced the Arab’s medical discoveries were for their time.
I enjoy reading your post. I agree with you Osama Bin Laden was educated, dedicated to his cause and he did not show no remorse for the deaths of 2,996 people including the 19 hijackers and 2,977 victims. I personally feel that he should have been brought back to America to be charge for the deaths of all this innocent people and victims. He did put this amazing

Without the awareness of math, some of the most essential scientific advancements would not have been made. Medical reference books found in Muslim libraries advanced European medicine by providing doctors with vital medical information (Doc 3). This increase in knowledge taught European doctors new processes for healing and introduced them to new, useful tools and medicine. Therefore, the people lived longer and the population boomed. This inspired more medical discoveries and changes in the way patients are treated, and still today, the medical world is
The Wahhabi and Salafist movements have become increasingly influential throughout the Middle East and the world. They have been an integral part of the dynamic religious conflict in the Middle East and have helped propagate the current terrorist movements throughout the world. To understand what makes these movements so popular, we must revisit the roots of Wahhabism and Salafism and their similarities and differences. Wahhabism was founded by Mohammed Ibn Abd al-Wahhab in the eighteenth century. Wahhabism “stresses the absolute sovereignty of God.”

Harvey had a huge impact on health and medicine because his discoveries helped in future life, and without him blood transfusions wouldn 't be possible today. He saved no lives but he showed other people how to save lives. Another important change in health and medicine was in the understanding of surgery. Ambroise Pare was a surgeon who followed Vesalius’s findings for example books and notes.
In Document 3 “For early 500 years, al Quasim’s work The Method, which contained original drawings of some 200 medical tools, was the foremost textbook on surgery in Europe.” These books originated with the Muslims and told the doctors every medical treatment they need to know every patient. If they could not remember it they would just refer back to the book. They used this method for about 500 years and it spread from civilization to civilization. This contribution was really helpful and successful.
Islam is a religion, so how do you think it came about. Well because of trade, military conquest, and political order. All of these subjects are why Islam spread so quickly. In document A, the passage was talking about trade. During 570, in the Middle East Islam spread so quickly through trade.
Although the Muslims made great advancements in these other fields, they made the greatest in the medical field of study. This was probably the most advanced because "Muslims had practical reasons for supporting the advancement of science" and medicine. The "rulers wanted qualified physicians treating their ills" (Document 1). The Islamic doctors learned how to treat the ill and then wrote their findings down in books. Some of this books included "a medical reference encyclopedia, the Comprehensive Book and Treatise on Smallpox and Measles" by al-Razi.
