Albert DeSalvo was born September 3, 1931 in Chelsea Massachusetts. Albert had a very rough upbringing, his father was an alcoholic and wife beater. He also had four siblings. In his early years he was in and out of prison for crime and violence. He also had a history of breaking and entering. After serving in the military, he was discharged for disobeying orders. Soon after he met and married a girl from Germany, Irmgard Beck. Together they had a handicap child and later a boy. DeSalvo appeared to be a family man and was like and appreciated by his peers. June 14, 1962 Anna Slesers was found in her bathroom with a cord around her neck tied in a bow. This was the first of 13 murders believed to have been committed by Albert DeSalvo, the Strangler. Bottomly, being the highest-ranking law enforcement in the state had the best chance of catching the Strangler. After great work from the police department the Strangler was found on accident. DeSalvo broke into a woman's apartment, tied her up and held a knife to her throat. He raped her and then ran away. The victim gave the police a good report and DeSalvo was brought in later. While in custody he admitted to robbing hundreds of apartments and raping a few women before finally admitting to being the Boston Strangler. After informing the police that he was in fact the Boston Strangler they did not believe him. Instead they sent him to Bridgewater State Hospital for assessment. His attorney F. Lee Bailey questioned him in great detail about the murders to find out if he was in fact the Boston Strangler. After many hours of DeSalvo explaining the murders in great detail, even to the furniture in the rooms, Bailey concluded that he was in fact the killer. Born in the Bronx, New York City, Arthur’s parents Herman and Emma Flegenheimer had immigrated to America in the late 1800’s during the great wave of immigration. They were German-Jews, searching for a new life in a different country. They settled in the mainly German part of New York. Arthur’s father Herman found work as a baker.
There was a 10,000 reward to anyone who could give any information leading to the capture of the person responsible for this horrific crime. To a man like Rolando Cruz that kind of reward seemed amusing. A known gang member looking for a quick way to make money. Cruz gave the police a false confession in hope of getting the reward money. Lorenzo was a man who did great things for Texas. He was also one of the men who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. Lorenzo’s full name is Manuel Lorenzo Justiniano de Zavala Saenz. “ Zavala’s political experience and reputation made him an ideal ally for the Texas cause.” In his life Lorenzo was dedicated to fighting oppression.
Helen Jewett was born in Temple, Maine on October 18, 1883. Helen's mother died while she was still a child and her alcoholic father soon followed her to the grave. With no parents or guardians that could watch over her, Helen was orphaned and later adopted by a local judge who provided her with a good family and education. Helen also worked as a servant during her stay with the family and after growing into a beautiful young woman, she developed sexual assertiveness and was rumored to be involved with a banker in a scandalous affair. After Helen's 18th birthday, she moved out of the house and began working as a prostitute in Portland, Maine.
Throughout the court of Canada there has been many records of wrongfully convictions that have occured. Today we still investigate those cases and why this lead for an wrongful act. Thomas Sophonow, David Milgaard, and James Driskell are three of the many that were wrongfully convicted. They were all imprisoned for murder and served jail time for 5 or more years.
Stephanie Crowe was 12 years old when she was found murdered. On January 21, 1998 Stephanie's grandma Judith Kennedy woke up to an alarm coming from Stephanie’s room that wasn’t turned off. Judith went to see why Stephanie wasn’t shutting it off. At 6:30am Stephanie Crowe was found murdered in her room, stabbed 9 times. Police questioned Richard Tuite, but police dismissed him as too “bumbling”(AleidaLaw.com) to have killed her.
Ernesto Arturo Miranda was born on March 9th 1941 in Mesa, Arizona. Miranda had a rough childhood and constantly acted out in school due to losing his mother at a young age and having a bad relationship with his father. Miranda was criminally convicted for the first time during his eighth grade year and in the following year, convicted of burglary. Due to his charges, Miranda was sentenced to reform school, only to be released in 1956. After being locked up for two years the eighteen year old traveled back to his home state, Arizona, and kept busy working for various companies until he became a laborer on a night loading dock for a Phoenix company.

Later when real police arrived they found a gruesome scene 5 Moran Gang members, and 2 associates were killed last Valentine’s day February 14, 1929 they were all lined up against a wall at 2,122 North Clark Street, and one volley of machine gun bullets later they were all dead but one. Frank Gusenberg was mortally wounded, and died 1 hour later from his wounds.
Solomon Radasky was born in Warsaw, Poland, on May 17, 1910. He worked in the Praga district of Warsaw with the family business of making fur coats. He had 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and a mother and father who lived in the same area as Solomon. He remembers that whenever a Jewish holiday came in his town, the stores closed for the day and everyone celebrated the Jewish holiday. In his early 30’s, the Nazis began to force many Jewish families, along with the Radasky family, into the newly established ghettos.

Gregorio Esparza was born in San Antonio de Béxar his birth name was José Maria Esparza. He is known as a defender of the Alamo. He was born on February 25, 1802. Gregorio married Anna Salazar whom he had a daughter and three sons. All of Gregorio Esparza’s family was present during the siege of the Mexican Army but only one of his sons Enrique Esparza was one of the eyewitnesses to see his father’s death.

The Boston Strangling case verdict was reached when DeSalvo confessed to committing the crimes. Although, the authorities were suspicious of DeSalvo being the criminal, they noted that he was able to recall minute and comprehensive details of all the crimes and some of the details he recalled were not of public knowledge. He was soon convicted and sentenced to life in prison. He escaped with fellow inmates and later was captured and transferred to a maximum security prison, where he was stabbed to death. A few years ago in 2001, the case was reopened and DeSalvo’s body was exhumed to obtain a DNA sample.
The very first murder he was linked to would have been the first one he would of committed. This murder took place in Santa Barbara on June 4th, 1963. The young victims were couple Robert Domingos and his betrothed Linda Edwards. The couple had decided to participate in their senior ditch day, so they went sunbathing at a beach near Gaviota State Park. When they didn’t return by the next morning, Robert’s father went looking for them.
Jerome Brudo’s was born in Webster, South Dakota in 1939. He was born to Henry and Eileen Brudos. He was the younger sibling of two. Henry Brudo’s was a farmer that couldn’t keep work. He moved the family all throughout the Midwest, which caused a rift in the marriage.
