James Adams wrote a book called “The Epic of America”, in it he sow The American Dream as “that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” My first thoughts about The American Dream had an Impact on my identity and the person that I am today. Knowing that I have a higher chance for success in the United States, helped plan for the future and study more than I usually do. The knowledge of having a higher chances to be successful in the United States more than anywhere in the world, made me value this opportunity a lot. Success is that goal that everybody in world seek, so I am not letting this opportunity slip by. I asked Garrett Gassman about The American Dream, and what it meant to him, and I have got a very interesting answers that I will share later.

How does the legacy of the ancient Greco-Roman world impact my life? Rome has by far one of the most influential cultures in history, and Greece is right there next to it. Put these two cultures together and the contributions go on forever. Almost everything I have comes from the Greco-Roman world and I don’t even realize it. Being included in the ever growing number of people who would have attained a college education is something I value greatly. Having a higher level of education is very important and is beneficial to me because it increases my life chances significantly. There are many factors which played a role in bringing me to this conclusion such as, increase in job opportunities, it can lead to my personal growth and it will make my family and me proud. Becoming a college graduate is of utmost importance to me because earning a college degree will in turn put me in a position where better job opportunities are available to me. Having a fulfilling and higher paying job will eventually allow me to have a better quality of life.
The term “livability” has become very popular especially in last years due to the appearance of rankings measuring this phenomenon in different cities. The word “livable” is used in countless ways to describe quality of life and standards of living that every city aspires to achieve. However, even though Alexander’s kingdom did not last long, his influence did. Alexander the Great formed a huge empire, which spread Greek culture into Egypt and many parts of Asia, and paved the way for new civilizations to develop. Alexander encouraged blending of cultures in areas he conquered, created new cities for example, Alexandria in Egypt. Alexander encouraged people from other parts of the empire to move to these cities and lastly, Cultural Diffusion led to the formation of Hellenistic Culture blending of Greek, Persian, Egyptian, and Indian cultures.

The adoption of the Constitution allowed the raise of taxes in order to support and build a stronger armed forces. Jefferson used this to his advantage in order to increase the presence of the Navy by deploying more ships. He put the ships under the command of Commodore Edward Preble. Preble’s fiery temper and aggressive ambitions proved to be enough to whip the U.S. Navy into shape. With Preble’s help, America was able to regain control of the blockade dividing them from Tripoli.
