To take another term often used to describe a home run, but this more often used to describe those home runs that maybe going over the fence but the announcer isn’t too sure if it will. This is where the possible inductees on my “ballot” that are on the fringe landed. For years questions have raged on why Mike Piazza isn’t in the Hall of Fame yet, and some even sunk low enough to think it was sabotage. I think Mike just had a cloud over his career due to his cohorts that has been lifted after years of coming so close to making into the Hall of Fame. The Super Bowl is one of the most watched sports games in America therefore , it should be moved to Saturday.

Sunday morning after the game, the #1 football player in the country wakes up, puts on his favorite sweatshirt and takes a walk downtown. He is quickly surrounded by his fans and fellow students, all telling him what a great game he had and asking for autographs while yelling his name. All of them are wearing his jersey. The All-American football player doesn’t think much of it, just humbly takes his praise, signs his name a few times, looks at all the jerseys and doesn’t make a dime. The school and sponsorships would make the money off his jerseys, his name, his fame...but why can’t he?

Have you ever heard someone say ‘music is a universal language’? A language that, regardless of what country you’re from, one that you can communicate with someone from the other side of the planet. And yet, people nowadays seem to completely disregard the music industry, even though music itself is therapy for many people, and one of the greatest forms of entertainment. Dodgeball; the greatest elimination game on Earth. What would you think if you could never play it again? I, for one, would be crushed that could never play it again. Many principals in Elkton, Maryland banned dodgeball because they believed it was inappropriate. They removed it from the P.E. curriculum just recently. I believe that dodgeball shouldn’t be taken out of the curriculum because it helps them be more aware, teaches them about life, and it leads to more games being taken away.

Usually, the first step to treatment is debridement. It removes dead skin that is preventing healing. Sometimes, if there is a significant amount of decaying tissue, surgery must be done to remove it. Next, oral antibiotics are given to prevent any infection that is present from becoming systemic. Do you believe doing flips, jumps and shouting is a sport? Cheerleading is a sport. Seventy-two percent of people believe it is and twenty-eight percent believe it is not a sport, according to Debate.org. I am one of those people who not only believe cheer is a sport, but know it is a sport. Although there was a court ruling years ago that declared it to not be a sport, there is no reason why cheer should not be considered a sport. It meets all of the requirements of being a sport and it involves a lot of hard work and dedication!

If you have played a youth sport, you probably have at least one participation trophy sitting in your room/basement right now. I know that I do! But, I didn’t earn that trophy. When I was young, that participation trophy made me think that I was the best and that I won at everything. But, that isn't right. Kids should not be given trophies just for participating in sports.
