What makes a someone a hero? Is it heroic deeds and grand achievements? Or is it their kindness and humility? The war hero Alvin York is both brave, and humble, making him a definite hero. October 18th 1918, York and sixteen other soldiers along with their commander end up behind enemy lines after misreading their map. They were in the middle of a nest of danger. Confused, the Germans surrendered after a brief firefight. But they quickly realized how small the American’s group was, they had their surrendered soldiers take cover while their gunners shot the Americans. Nine died along with the commander.
