On the 02nd of November 2007, Meredith Kercher was found dead in a cottage in Italy. Kercher’s naked body was located partially covered with a bloody blanket in the house that she and Amanda Knox resided (Chan, 2016). Kercher died from suspected knife injuries to her face and throat (Timeline, 2016). Knox explains that she was at Raffaele Sollecito (who was Knox’s boyfriend at the time) house, during the murder (Chan, 2016). Knox returned to the cottage in the morning in order to shower and change her clothes. Injustice, (2016) explains that when Knox returned home in the morning she noticed the front door was left open slightly. Knox then made her way to the bathroom, in which she noticed a few small spots of blood in the sink and a stain on the bathmat. …show more content…
Knox then went to check on her roommate (Meredith Kercher) but noticed her room door was locked. Amanda Knox then returned to Sollecito’s house to inform him of what she seen and they returned to the house together and proceeded to call the police (injustice, 2016). Police investigators arrived shortly after (including head investigator), Giuliano Mignini (Locke, 2012). Upon arrival, the door to Kercher’s room was forced open and Kercher’s body was found but no murder weapon. Mignini initially theorised that Knox, Sollecito and her boss, (Diya Lumumba) were involved in Kercher’s death indicating it was “A sex game gone wrong” (Johnson, 2016). Knox and Sollecito were quickly called to attend the police station. Interviews became a long, aggressive interrogation consisting of several hours each day being yelled at, physically abused, refused water and threatened with jail time (Injustice, 2016). The result of this was Amanda Knox committing a false confession in which she stated her boss (Diya Lumumba) killed Meredith
While attending school in Italy, Amanda Knox a 27 year old American from Seattle Washington, has gotten herself caught up in quite a lengthy monstrosity. It began in 2007 when Knox and 23 year old Raffaele Sollecito, her boyfriend of one week claim to have been at his home smoking hash and watching movies all night. Upon arriving at the home Knox shared with her roommate the next morning, the pair noticed something astray and called police claiming there must have been a robbery. The police entered the home only to later discover the bloody body of Knox’s roommate Meredith Kercher. After conducting their investigation along with questioning both Knox and Sollecito, the two were charged and eventually convicted in 2009 for the gruesome stabbing
The other suspects showed more of an involvement in the murder than Knox. Everyone has different responses to shock and hers was not ideal for the police. Giuliano Mignini was convicted that Knox was involved with the murder just on the base the thought that she was remembering the murder as if she did it. He had an obsession. He had an idea about Knox and wanted that to follow through.
After researching the Tulia case, I can conclude that the ruling was unfair due to a faulty justice system and targeted african american people. Out of 46 people that were arrested, 39 were african american. 38 out of the 46 were convicted on drug charges by Tom Coleman. An ex-agent, white male, who failed to submit any actual evidence that can convict them for the charges. 38 people were convicted solely by his word and falsified evidence.

After reading chapters one and two of the Psychology in Everyday Life book and learning about the four big ideas in psychology, and also while trying to figure out the contributing factors of Andrea Yates’ murder of her children. I have to focus in on and think about big idea two, the biopsychosocial approach, that integrates three levels which are biological, psychological and social/cultural; all together these factors influence and give insight into behavior and mental processes. (CITE BOOK) After reviewing these, the psychological factors that I believe to have contributed to Andrea Yates’ murder of her children are, firstly biological, Andrea had a genetic predispositions, which means Andrea had an increased likelihood of developing
Throughout the history of the United States there have been numerous court cases that have drawn an incredible amount of public attention. Whether this was because the person involved was a known figure, or the offense that's being charged upon the defendant and/or the conviction that the case resulted in. It seems as if the United States just has an abundant of cases to choose from when choosing to analyze a case and that can possibly be based on the justice system used in the states to proceed a crime in court. One of those controversial cases in the history of the United States was the Lizzy Borden case. This case showed how to escape from the hands of the justice system.

Despite different opinions hold by the two authors, they do have some similar ideas in common, which is both of them consistently think that honor killing is universally unacceptable across culture.
As I look back on my journey to college, I faced many different problems and disadvantages even before taking my first steps on campus. In Linda Banks-Santilli’s “Guilt is one of the biggest struggles first-generation college students face” many first generation students view being the first one in the family as a major flaw before entering college (Banks-Santilli, 2015, Par. 4 &7). The lack of self-respect makes it difficult for students to achieve success without help or motivation. The students have to change their viewpoint about being the first to go to college in their family as a weakness and make it a strength to help motivate them to be better students.
The three eye witnesses claimed not to know who they saw but when Sacco was taken into custody, out of nowhere the witnesses said that he was one of the two men that were involved. The murderers, who were described as two Italian men, escaped with more than $15,000. On the very same day, a deportation was also scheduled for an Italian anarchist living in Bridgewater named Feruccio Coacci. In preparation for leaving, Coacci quit his job at Slater and Morrill.(History) The similarities of these men were astonishing, not to mention all three were

There is more than enough evidence to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that Elisa Lam was murdered - her body was found in a large water tank that she would have never been able to access alone, entry to the roof was restricted to only
There was many people question by the police about the death of Amy LaTour. The evidence from Amy’s death seems to be a murder, pointing her maid Celeste. I believe Celeste strangled her with her scarf and she did it out of pure jealousy. First of all, evidence from the picture shows the door cracked open which means that whoever it was, snuck in.
Through various film and literary techniques, Steinbeck and Mcteigue explore the concept of justice in their texts. In John Steinbeck's Of mice and men, the concept of justice is portrayed as giving somebody what they deserve, although, using literary techniques, Steinbeck explores injustice in this view of justice that the members of the ranch have acquired. In McTeigue’s V for Vendetta, justice is portrayed most prominently as the abuse of power. A very large amount of power lies within the government and Mcteigue emphasizes the wrongs the government does, abusing their power causing the responders see the injustice in the government’s actions. Both texts makes reference to problems being experienced in the modern world today to do with
