Amazigh Language

the aim of this topic is first to investigate the efforts made either by

the ircam institute or by The government to implement the amazigh language

as a teaching subject .second reason this propsal is going to

explore to what extend has the amazigh language been implemented as well

as prospecting the major roles of both of them,to state each one of these

member efforts contributed to promoting a minorized language (berebr) and

accept it as a language side by side with other languages, especially that

morocco is a multiligual country .this is why the moroccan state faces a

complex linguistic problem since it is not dealing with only monolingualism

but rather with linguistic diversity ,the problem that will

in north africa since it belongs to the first Moroccan inhabitantes .it is well spread through many geographical areas namely lybia, Egypt, Mauritania, Mali

,and chad moreover, in 1912berber language was the was the mother tongue

of the whole Moroccan population as ennaji has argued that (cited

ennaji.m.page 72) as other language ,this language does have a particular

wriiten system that symbolizes it ,mainly the tifinagh script .the alphabet script

is adopted in some regions such as mali and niger …..At the beginning there

was no written system that berbers could use to write their language,

rather there were two choices for either use arabic script or latin alphabet

most commonly spoken language in this region ,wich used to

be called tamazgha “.besides its being called tamazgha,amazigh language

tashlhit and tarifit.this diversity causes a problem in terms of the use

of a Specific writing system that symbolizes the whole varieties ,which will

make it, latter On; hard to be maintained as a language .In other word

The status of the amazigh language

Before it becomes a language ,amazigh language was a minority language that

is it was just treated as dialect rather than a language .It has suffered from

Segregation and Marginalization through centuries either by non Berbers or by

the Government its self..before the frensh colonization began in 1912,

berber was the mother tongue of the whole Moroccan population “m,ennaji
