The majority of the letters were left ignored due to soilders being labeled as "missing," with no one searching for them, or bodies never being recovered from battlefields and being identified. As she became further informed, the determination inside provoked her to do something in order to help the relatives of the men who fought for our country. Immediately, Clara began communications with Abraham Lincoln, in order to establish permission to officially respond to these lingering inquiries. Once granted authorization, "The Search for the Missing Men" commenced.19 The entire summer of 1865 was spent assisting in locating, identifying, transporting, and holding funerals for over thirteen-thousand individuals from Georgia. Not all soilders were left moratally wounded, numerous soilders had been incredibly injured, unable to communicate their identity to others, some lost, held captive by enemy confederates, or simply couldn 't endure the experiences

The story started when a third grade student Linda Brown had to walk a long distance to attend school. Because of the previous Supreme Court decision that was called separate but equal, she was not eligible to attend classes at any of the schools that were reserved for white colored students even if there were some just right where she was living at. Linda’ father was worried about her little daughter that she had to walk daily next to the railroad. He decided to register his daughter at one of the white schools. Unfortunately, his application was denied under the pretext of
From the essay, The Dead Baby Mystery, Gawade starts with a court case that involves the murders of eight children of Marie Noe that no one could explain what happened. As Gawande writes, “some of the most respected pathologists of the time, could find no explanation for the crib deaths” (202) and “Foul play was strongly considered, but no evidence for was found” (202). What Gawande has written is that at the time, cases like these, child murder or accident, determines not easily. Even three decades later — the case reopened and the judge charges her of child abuse — one of the officials that wrote back to Gawande stating “that there was no direct evidence to support the charges” (Gawande 204). That quote Gawande wrote to show that the charge came from indirect or circumstantial evidence.
The mystery of the what happened to the Sodder family can be summed up in two theories: Teh Kids were taken by 4 adults that had no help and the kidnapper paid off the police and fire department to keep quiet. While the Sodders were only regular everyday people their disappearance has confused and bewildered people for over 50 years. While some people disagree on what really happened, Most can agree that around 1:00 am “Jennie was drifting back into sleep when she heard what sounded like an object landing on the roof and
Shields proves this through the events Mrs. Turner has undergone and by the close-minded professor. The first act of ignorance is the first secret the readers learns about Mrs. Turner, the incident when she was nineteen in her hometown with a married man (p.148) This incident shows a lot about Mrs. Turner’s personality. The reader learns that when she got caught her first decision was to “creep out of the house at midnight and catch the bus to Winnipeg” (p.148) even though it is clear she does not have much money nor great navigation skills. Mrs. Turner’s impulse of leaving her hometown without a set plan is idiotic and clearly ignorant.

Scholars are physically unable to immerse themselves in the fictional or historical world they are analyzing, causing them to lack the required experiences and emotions needed to accurately analyze the text. For example, those who analyze ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ can do so only from an outside perspective, and thus never fully understand the emotions or actions of the characters in the book. Without being emerged in a society and without experiencing what happens first hand, it is difficult, complicated, and near impossible to write a history as if you did have those

Author Jock Sturges quotes (Sturges), “What pedophiles and people who have sexual desires on children lose sight of to a terrible, terrible degree- a devastating degree- is that their victims are real people who will suffer forever whatever abuses are perpetrated on them.” Very often on the TV, radio and newspaper cover stories about children who are abused, abducted and even murdered, usually by strangers but it is important to know that these are not typical crimes. Sexual abusers are more likely to be people we know, and could well be people we care about; after all more than 7 out of 10 children who are sexually abused know their abuser. As a matter of fact, they are family members or friends, neighbors or babysitters and many hold responsible
