Although a lot of people experienced economic growth, some did not share it. Farmers, railroaders, and textile factories did not share this. The 20’s were called the “roaring twenties”, because there were several societal changes occurring. New styles, habits, ways of thinking, and most importantly, the new opportunities for women. Thanks to the flappers, a group of women wanting equality, women were able to vote, work outside the home, and run for political office.
The United States was thriving in the early 1920’s. Most of, if not all of the United States’ success was attributed to its growing industrial sector. The development and success of industries such as textile factories, oil, steel, and motor companies was widely spread throughout America. Causes The Roaring 20’s were kick-started by the end of World War One. Thanks to the American victory, confidence in the distinctly American ideals of freedom and government was at an all-time high. Mass production of goods such as laundry machines and cars meant more of these products could now be bought on credit.
