I spoke with the Education Department with the Veterans Affairs office. Please explain to me in writing what the paperwork stated that you sent out. I am having such a problem with this situation. At first I was told that there wasn 't any paperwork in the system and now I was told that the paperwork was filled out incorrectly. I understand that you have done your part, I just want to use the correct wording when I have to speak with the VA later today. Thank you for all of your help.

When I first stumbled upon this scholarship from the American Legion, I knew right away that I wanted to apply for it because of the similarities between what the American Legion and what I both stand for. I few words that I would use to describe the American Legion and myself would be, service, integrity, and hard work. These are a few things that I take very seriously and attempt to involve in my life everyday. I pride myself on these high character traits and try to use them in my community, during sporting events, at home, and at my school. I also implement these traits while fulfilling my civic duties by doing service around my community. Some of these services involve, the 20 hours of service I am required to do each year to graduate

Without knowledgeable and qualified leaders at every level of civilian or military organization people will work in an unhealthy environment and their output and performance will suffer. Management or leadership lacking in leadership qualities will effect organizational culture and climate in a negative way, to the point that it will make the unit organization incapable of accomplishing the assigned mission. After a series of tragic events that occurred within the 4th ABCT during their last deployment in Afghanistan, I have no doubt in my mind that commanding them is going to be challenging. During the last few weeks, I had the opportunity to examine the historical unit records, CALL and CAL assessments, and conversations and observations with leaders throughout the Brigade and Division, which gave me some helpful information. This information has helped me in preparing the plan on how to meet with the upcoming challenge. In this paper, I am going to focus mainly on three aspects, which are going to assist me to be a better leader. First, I will identify the most critical leadership problems that are effecting the Brigade culture and climate. Then I will create my vision, which will lead to solving all the challenges in the brigades.

How many people have been over seas to protect our country and saw the devastation that war can hold in person? Many people think about this question and wonder. A good majority of people have regular good paying jobs. Still many people dislike the fact of working for a business or office setting. Some people have been through the dark side and back. Military veterans have done more then the regular person and have seen the blood and gore of war, have seen death, received diseases like PTSD, have more experience in the real world, and have suffered in many ways to defend our country, All veterans who are over seas defending our country should be paid more then they already do. You left your family and friends into a bloody war you could of died but you didn’t mind. You took your life for mine. You made things in life better then if you didn’t go into the war. My papa went into the war and he made it out safe. Those stripes and stars in our flag came from you. You saved many lives on the other side of the battle field. You chose to leave behind your loved ones and your life to die, make it home safe, or to have major injuries. Some people don’t care about the Veterans. But I care about veterans and all the people writing these essays.

As a daughter of a United States Marine, I have a real-life perspective on veterans. I have deep respect for my father, and all veterans who have put their lives on the line for America. My heart really goes out to those soldiers fighting this very moment. My brother-in-law has an old high school friend that went into the National Guard. While this friend was away he encountered a form of great disrespect. The man was spit on by a former U.S citizen while wearing his uniform. The citizen’s excuse was he was against fighting for our country.

How are the people of Ancient Greece similar to the people of modern day? Modern day people actually have more in common with the ancient greeks than one would think. In the articles “ Psychiatrist Who Counsels Vets Wins Genius Grant” by Joseph Shapiro and “Back From War but Not Really Home” by Caroline Alexander, talks about veterans who have post traumatic stress disorder, and how the epic poems The Iliad and The Odyssey help treat them. The Epic poems expose the struggles of Modern day veterans by revealing what kind of trauma they experienced, yet it also helps them for proving how they are not the only ones to feel this way.

The fiction story that I wrote about was titled, “The Rebirth of an American Solider. The basis of this story was about a solider and how he was able to transition from his secondary position with the Army, right into being a well awarded sniper.

The United States of America proudly honors all brave and loyal veterans who dedicated themselves to service. These brave men and women receive medals, speeches, and awards after on leave, giving them the respect that veterans deserve. After the honors and glory however, the needs of veterans have gone unnoticed. New struggles arise when coming home, such as finding a job and living normal lives again. Many veterans returning home significantly struggle with feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and emptiness; these individuals face depression as the largest issue as they return to civilian life.

The department of Veteran Affairs ensures the care and honor for our American Veterans. Its mission statement is “to fulfill President Lincoln’s promise “to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan.”” Veterans have many different benefits such as disability compensation, health care, life insurance, education and training, and pension, just to name a few. Benefits not only apply to the veteran themselves, but also to their spouse and dependents.

I was an Infantry Medic with the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Cambbell. After 2 tours in Afghanistan, I was medically retired with a few injuries. I taught myself graphic illustration as a means of theraphy and started creating digital art. After a request for a custom stormtrooper cardback, this hobby took off. I never forget my brothers and sisters that paid the ultimate sacrifice and those whose quality of life has been changed just like mine. So I dontate proceeds from sale that I make and give that to my local chapters of the Disabled Veterans Assoc. American Legion and the VFW.

The 7th of February was a rather calm and not so busy day for FVL Truppenführer Preston Connelly and Truppenführerin Gudruna Hurley, compared to Lucas Fields, Adelburger Walther Schäffer and the other FVL leaders. Having been to the RGA repository known as Schloß Schwarzenstein, the two scouts decided that it was time for them to figure out what their respective Foreign Volunteer Legions’ specialties would be. They discussed about it inside their personal quarters within Underworld, making note of everything they said to each other in the process.
