AMERICAN RED CROSS “The door that nobody else will go in at, seems to always swing open widely for me ” - Clara Barton. The American Red Cross has had an Impact not only on American Citizens, but people all over the world. This charity offers a variety of assistance such as blood donation, food, and overall aid to individuals who have experienced calamity from war to natural disasters. Due to this charity’ long history of helping victims, I believe that people should take the time to contribute supplies and other resources to the charity.

The American Red Cross has a history of saving lives since the begging of the organization. This charity’s journey began in 1881, when Clara Barton, a social reformer and a nursing pioneer, saw the international Red Cross’ popularity in Europe. Clara Barton later then went on to create the American version which is known as the American Red Cross. The purpose of the charity was to provide aid to American victims of natural disaster and Soldiers fighting on battlefields. Barton led the Red Cross for 23 years, during which time the organization assisted the U.S. military during The Spanish-American war, resulting in the first domestic overseas relief efforts for the Red Cross.
