Project sustainability is influenced by several factors, but those that directly infuenced failure of the discussed project included: • Lack of community involvement in designing, planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation -: The community was superficially involved i.e they participated in voluntary physical activities in a project that was introduced to them without need identification. The project planners went ahead to assign their own staff to conduct the monitoring and evaluation exercise. • Community acceptance and project ownership-: This couldnt be achieved because of the superficial involvement that lead to lack of understanding of the objectives set by the planners and hence compromising sustainability of the project. Other stakeholders e.g local leaders and politicians were passive in the project. It is clear that only the employed local staff and planners were involved actively.
In the beginning, Medicare was thought of as a "sickness insurance program." There were concerns that large segments of the population, especially laborers, who could not afford to pay their medical bills. While Medicare was in its planning stages, the American Medical Association (AMA) opposed a national plan from the start. "The AMA, in common with many Americans, thought of medical care as largely a private transaction between a medical practitioner and a patient. There was no need for the State to intervene in this relationship" (Berkowitz, 2008, p. 82).
But, there was a few of the programs that seemed the Executive Director did not seem as concerned about. I personally see as that a large issue because all four of those programs needs the same attention to make sure that employees and managers are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. Another, issue that is needs some attention is the fundraising issues. “Nonprofit organization are finically dependent on both the government and donors from fundraisers” (Worth, 2014). The center has not made the fundraising goal and I see that as issue because that is extra money that can go to other things the community
Also it was saying that it will make good the loss suffered by the people. But then it was not looking into the mental stress and trauma which the people were facing, whose life had been affected. Thus the ethical dilemma can be said to exist that the company is only looking at the physical damage and not the psychological damage of the people. Q2. Who are the stakeholders and how are they impacted by this situation?
When homeless people do not have a job they do not get to input into the economic process, so participative justice is not happening for them. Distributive Justice means that all people do not get a fair share of goods in our economy. If someone is homeless, they obviously are not getting the same amount of goods as wealthy person. But they are getting some benefits like a bed and a place to eat. (Defining Economic Justice ans Soical Justice
The misconduct of code of ethics by the management level by Enron corporation has led to the another question – The ultimate responsibility of a corporation towards society ? The ultimate responsibility of a corporation is to gain profit or become a stable economic unit ? (Johnson , 2014 ) In this case , it shows that under normal circumstances the management level of a company or corporation will choose to hide the truth over honesty and integrity .In other way , profitability has override the important of ethics in the corporation .
Examples of selfish behavior are depicted in the work force. People in the business world have minimal consideration for the prosperity of their coworkers, or much concern for the social feeling that we recognize as important. Many business practices are literally established on the rule that a superiority of one employee can only develop from the drawback of another. Employees are not repremanded for such conduct even though there is a obvious cruel intention behind it. Daily business habits that convey self interest and lack social feeling towards others contaminate society in general, making it difficult for people to pursue their conscience in the civilized way they desire.
But Alex did not care much. As we know problem is his behavior, not her work. So organization should involve psychology experts to consult Alex. As we know from the case that Alex Sander has two career paths either a manager or owner in a small startup. And organization cannot afford to lose a super performer employee.
The CEO has mentioned that there are significant problems when it comes to the communication between management and employees. Also, he has mentioned that the Organizational goals are fully communicated to the top level management, but when it comes to the lower level management, specific goals of the company are not communicated. They are only informed about the overall vision of the company which is portrayed in their website. He doesn’t believe that it is essential for the development of the company, but this makes employees less anxious and unclear of what they are supposed to do and what they are really into. This might be the reason for the difficulties of vertical communication.
. In my opinion all this business ideas are examples of ethical egoism, the group is so focused in getting money in a short amount of time, that they don 't care the harm they might cause to others by doing so. They are pursuing their interest disregarding the consequences for others . In the case of the synthetic cannabinoids, there was severe side effects that the product could cause to their customers, since there was no way to test it, it would not be save to offer a product that might harm people, beside the legal consequences of doing so. This reflect an ethical egoism since they are only acting from a self interest perspective.
[27: Adalian, Rouben Paul. "Talaat, Mehmet." Talaat, Mehmet.] Many historians often describe the United States involvement during this time period as ?too little too late.? [footnoteRef:28] The United States did not do much to help other than to provide temporary shelter and provide food aid.
The United States welfare system was created to assist those in situations where they couldn’t work or were in bad financial situation. The aid offered can be received through multiple different federally funded programs. This has helped many of those kinds of people who couldn’t help themselves get out of financial crisis. However, the system has been abused by those who are too lazy to work. Plenty of people use welfare to gain an income while avoiding work or looking for it.
There are three mission statements for a company. One of the mission statements is about the customers. Comparing and contrasting with an analysis on mission statement for mission statement one is that: The strong point about this mission statement is that : The company valued their customers in contributing positively to the company and develop a balance interest in other lives and professional skills of other employees. The weak point is that this company develops their own selection or list of skills, and this company only valued customers while the customers contributing positively to their company this is weak and ineffective. You should valued all customers is they contribute to the business or not and you don’t mix your personal lives with your business.
Nonprofits can effectively utilize the strategies discussed by “Making Markets Work” to bring awareness and financial stability to its social purpose. However, these organizations should be mindful of how much of their time and resources are consumed by business as to not lose perspective on their ultimate social goal. These are the fears and risks that every nonprofit grapples with, the need to provide while still working towards the organization’s mission. In the past fear was the driving factor deterring nonprofits to distance themselves from business methods. Many nonprofits fear that their engagement in business tactics may lead them astray from their intended missions or may cause others in the nonprofit sector negatively view
