Fighting for freedom, family, friends, and the future, Chris Kyle became the United States’s deadliest sniper. In Hollywood he has been displayed as a hero in the Blockbuster film, American Sniper. Quickly it became the number one movie in America. After the movie’s release however, many arguments have been brought up saying that Chris Kyle is not a war hero, he is a war criminal. The story of Chris Kyle is amazing and heart provoking, but some say that it is a lie. They think that it is a scam put on by the Pentagon to create a glorified version of war, and influence Americans that war is great. This tactic was also used by Bismarck, the German leader in the late 1800s. However, Chris Kyle, is a American hero, who earned fame defending his home, with the scope of his rifle. Born in Odessa, Texas, Chris Kyle grew up with a rifle in his hand. He was a good shot, but he or his parents never saw him to earn fame from it. Soon after 9-11 Kyle applied for a spot in the U.S. Marines and for his outstanding performance he was persuaded to join the Navy SEALs. He was placed into SEAL Team 3, sniper element Charlie. Kyle became good friends with these men through his training and they became a family by the time …show more content…
He faced many conflicts there. One of his first orders where to shoot a woman that was walking toward a group of marines, she appeared to be holding an IED. Kyle, in order to save his men had to execute his orders and he did. Later he commented in 2013 that after the first couple of kills, he began to cope with it more, instead of killing, he was saving American lives. With this outlook he overcame that struggle that many other American soldiers faced. Killing people was not easy for many American soldiers, taking a life is more than it seems. Confirming more and more kills Kyle became the deadliest sniper in American history. To his fellow soldiers he was a legend, a hero, and to his enemies, a
He loved our country so much he would anything to save it. There were two main characters in American sniper. The first one was Chris Kyle. Chris never gave up and always faced the enemy no matter what.
Kyle’s marksmanship became renown not just within the American Military, with whom he was charged with protecting, but also among insurgents as well, they nick named him “ The Devil of Ramadi.” Kyle’s enemies had put a $20,000 bounty on the head of any U.S sniper. Kyle’s nerves and patience for tracking his subjects, earned him
In, book he claims, “The Navy credits me with more kills as a sniper than any other American service member, past or present” (Kyle 5). In other words, the Navy credits Chris as the deadliest sniper in American history. With “160 confirmed kills in Iraq” (Kyle 5). Chris didn’t give himself full credit.
With four Bronze Star Valor medals and two Silver Star Medals, Navy Seal Chris Kyle is regarded to be one of the all time deadliest snipers in U.S Military history. Chris served four deployments to Iraq and had over one hundred and sixty confirmed kills (Greenblatt). Soon after his first tour of iraq, the enemy placed a $80,00 bounty on his head, yet he was able to survive all four deployments without any major harm (Perry). Sniper Chris kyle was a classic tragic hero. He was admired by all and a great leader in battle, but he allowed his love for America and the U.S troops to ultimately lead to his own destruction.
Chris Kyle the Hero Heroes don’t need to have super-powers such as shooting lasers out of your eyes, flying, or super-speed. They don’t need a wear a mask, a cape, or tight spandex and fight evil villains at night in order to be a hero. Heroes can be ordinary people like Chris Kyle, a member of the United States Navy Seal and the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, with over 160 kills confirmed by the Department of Defense. Chris Kyle is my perfect example of a hero because his actions in the past few years have shown me that he is selfless by putting the safety of others before himself, devoted by spending a great deal of time his fellow troops on and off the battlefield, and watchful by protecting the people he cares about.
I only wished I had killed more. Not for bragging rights, but because I believe the world is a better place without savages out there taking American lives. Everyone I shot in Iraq was trying to harm Americans or Iraqis loyal to the new government” (American Sniper). All Kyle knew was, they were threatening his country and it was his job to stop them. He says he had a job to do and it was too kill those plotting against his country.
Some things may seem unethical from a far in war but, bad happens, and with an enemies push you can 't pull, you have to push back, but stronger. I’ve noticed some say that being a sniper is cowardly, but I disagree. He stopped others from killing the people on his side, making them able to continue. Unfortunately Chris’ brave run in life ended in 2013, when a former marine shot and killed him at a gun range. (Aldrich, Ian) Chris may mainly be remembered for shooting an enemy from an unbelievable 2,100 yards away, or a call he made when an unaware child was holding a weapon that threatend his people, but in all honesty, he should be remembered for the strength, nobility, and bravery he showed, not his stats.
This is a quote from the famous US Navy Sniper, Chris Kyle(Book). Chris Kyle is notorious for being a tenacious, heroic, and affectionate man due to his many actions he carried out for the United States of America. Chris Kyle was born on April 8, 1974 in Odessa, Texas. He grew up on a ranch where he spent most of his time outdoors. As a graduate Chris studied at Tarleton State University.
Even though the soldier in “American Sniper” might smoke an occasional cigar, he does what he needs to do and what he believes is the best decision for our country. The “innocent” woman that the soldier killed is not as innocent as many people may realize, the woman was a informer and if the soldier wouldn't have killed her, he would have been the one eventually killed. The soldier did what he needed to do and that is that there is no other logical argument against this statement. One reason my opinion is the only relevant solution to this debate is the soldier is a human being, most people think he is some kind of monster when actually in the story it say he is Murphey 2 “bitten by remorse” and “the lust of battle died in him” this shows how the soldier is no animal it really shows he is a human being with emotions and feelings.
In the film American Sniper directed by Clint Eastwood and the novel Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, both works exhibit depiction of war through the protagonist. However, each work is portrayed differently as they each show a representation with opposite depiction of war. While one decides to promote war, the other diminish it. In Eastwood’s adaptation of American Sniper, his insight appears as a promotion for pro-war propaganda, in contrast, Slaughterhouse Five depicts ideas that portray the war in a poor light. American Sniper retells the story of Chris Kyle, a Navy Seal who was reported to have 160 confirmed kills.
He became a Navy SEAL and was assigned to SEAL Team 3. Chris Kyle was a US Navy SEAL in SEAL Team 3. Kyle is said to be the most lethal sniper in US military history and has 160 confirmed kills. Kyle served four tours in the Iraq War. He was awarded several awards and medals for the great things he did.
He heard the drop of the body, even over the echo of the gunshot ringing throughout the terrain. His curiosity peaked. He wanted to look over to make sure he confirmed the kill, but he knew that if he looked he could be killed by another sniper off in the distance. Instead of looking, he flees when the time is right. Soon after he made it home.
In retrospect, Chris Kyle in the “American Sniper” is a very complex character because of his double identity as a father and a first class sniper. Based off of his actions in war he may be described as “Al-Shaitan” or an immoral man but we do not know the deeper meaning of sacrifice until we have put our lives on the line. This is the soul reason that sympathizes Kyle and our armed forces, as many of us wouldn’t do the same. Once at the end of the novel, a shed of light will be revealed showing us that we are not so different from our men and women in combat, we just don’t carry M40s to work every
According to the film and book “American Sniper", Chris only felt bad about the lives he couldn 't save, not the ones he did. He had no problem killing the enemy but could not bear to see his fellow servicemen be killed. Many marines look up to him as a savior because he was their only protection when walking down hostile streets. Enemy soldiers would hide and ambush so Kyle would prevent them from ambushing.
These two sentences show how brave the sniper is when he is putting his life at risk for what he believes in.
