Research an International Non Governmental Organization that works on behalf of human rights issues
There are so many organizations globally that have dedicated their efforts to protect human right and how to end human right abuses (Human Right, 2016). However, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) have contributed primarily in directing the international community on the various human rights issues around the world. The nongovernmental organization I will like to discuss is the Amnesty International.

However, in pursuit of this vision, AI’s mission “is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of these rights” (Amnesty International Charity, 2016).

However, due to AI Advocates they were able to walk out of jail after a judge acquitted them and ordered their immediate release (Amnesty International Charity, 2016). But, “Amnesty International recently launched an international campaign calling for the release of Verónica Razo, mother of two, who has also spent more than five years in prison after Federal Police subjected her to 24 hours of torture to force her to confess” and also “Investigations should now take place into the torture of Denise, Korina and Wendy and those responsible should face justice” (Amnesty International Charity, 2016).
Why this work was necessary
This work was necessary because AI wants every person in the world to enjoy human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration and also their mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses globally.

Facts: In this case, a 23-year-old man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, and taken to the police station for questioning about a rape and kidnapping. The police questioned him for two hours, and were able to get a written confession out of Miranda. The confession was used in court as evidence during the trial. Miranda was found guilty of rape and kidnapping and was sentenced between twenty to thirty years in prison for each count. The Arizona Supreme Court confirmed the conviction and Miranda’s case was sent to the U.S Supreme Court.
A. Miranda v. Arizona (1966) B. Facts of the case A mexican immigrant man named Ernesto Miranda was charged with the rape and kidnapping of an 18 year old girl in Arizona in 1963. Without informing him of his rights, he was questioned for hours resulting in a signed confession at the end of it. At the trial he was found guilty, largely due to his confession, and sentenced to 20-30 years in prison for each count.
It brings me much grief that I must be the bringer of terrible news, but then again it must be said and so I continue. Our fellow humans are being tortured and we have done nothing about it. I recently learned about a man named Sebastian Richardson. Richardson is 51 years old. Richardson is apparently one of many who are faced with horrendous abuse and brutal treatment brought upon him by the justice system.
One example is a large non-governmental organization by the name of Medecins Sans Frontieres. The organization is one that delivers medical aid to different countries. They have helped over seventy countries total. Medecins Sans Frontieres wanted to open a feeding center for Ethiopia but were rejected by Ethiopian authorities. Kelala, a region in Ethiopia had more than six thousand children suffering from serious malnutrition.
In today's world, human rights still face many challenges and problems. There are still political systems and behaviors in the world that do not respect human rights, such as dictatorial regimes, racial discrimination, gender discrimination, poverty, hunger, and other issues. In addition, new technology and globalization trends have brought new challenges to human rights protection, such as privacy protection, digital rights, and other
To many, violation of human rights is a serious issue. This shows that for every negative force, there is always someone who recognizes the wrong and seeks to correct
By now, everyone in America has heard the name Ariel Castro. Castro is known for holding three adolescents captive in his Cleveland home for over a decade. Media coverage in the Cleveland area exploded, and a nation was invested in finding these three captives alive (Berry et al. 74-75). In the eyes of the law, justice was initially served in the Ariel Castro kidnapping trial because he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole (Glatt 316).
As we look throughout history, governments have implemented policies and are partially responsible for the denial of human rights to a certain group. These groups include Ukrainians and Rwandans. The denial of human rights in these regions not only affect those in the region but internationally. Both Ukrainians and Rwandans were denied their human rights. Ukraine’s hope and will was in the hands of the dictator Joseph Stalin.
Maria Jimenez is an organizer for a civil rights which helps immigrant workers. In her article “Border Enforcement Has Caused Migrants ' Deaths” she discusses how border patrol has violated human rights and killed immigrants. Also, the United States has failed to take action on human rights issues to focus on national security measures. Jimenez explains “The United States had not complied with international and human rights law acknowledging the principle of good faith, the abuse-of-rights principle and the human right to life.” (Jimenez 2011)
It is very disappointing that Mexico wants to cover it’s truths from its people and from other countries. However, it is good that we at least found what was happening in Mexico through
Unfair Treatment of Prisoners Hundreds of thousands of prisoners are provoked and bullied by prison guards everyday. They are treated like dirt, with no chance of being rehabilitated, which was the reason they went to prison. Prisoners are mistreated inside prisons.
In “The Dark Side of Human Rights,” Onora O'Neill holds that rights to goods and services require that the good or service is guaranteed, which entails that someone is responsible to supply them. For example, with rights to food and health care the accountable individuals are “the farmer and the physician” (O'Neill 427). These rights contrast liberty rights, which are negative and include rights preventing physical harm and interference. Liberty rights demand that first-order obligations (to respect them) be universal, and second-order obligations (to guarantee they are respected) be particular (428). Until the obligations associated with rights to goods and services are clarified, the question remains: “what is required of the farmer, the physician and others who actually have to provide food and health care?”
Our government claims that as humans we are innocent until proven guilty, however this is not the case as we are locking up these unfortunate people upon their arrival. Human rights commission released that what the government was doing is illegal. Our nation in response focused not on the mistreatment of these innocent beings but instead asked for the resignation of the human rights commissioner, Gillian Triggs for shedding the truth of what is really
Consider with me for a moment that you have been wrongfully convicted or accused of a crime. From the first arrest to the closing of those cell bars you have tried your best to prove your innocence but you weren’t able to and felt that no one would know the truth. You felt helpless because no one would listen let alone believe you. Every night you would lay in the cell hoping that someone would soon realize you are innocent of the accused crimes and do not deserve to be incarcerated. Eventually, you were exonerated maybe days, weeks, months, or years after the initial incarceration; no matter the length of time the damage is still done both mentally and physically.
Before the HRA of 1998, most people who suffered human rights abuses did not know that their rights have been violated, and even if they knew, they did not know where or who to turn to for help. The UK government educated people about their human rights and informed them of the local and international solutions available to them when their rights are violated. Equality and Human Rights Commission inspects human rights, protecting equality across nine grounds: age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief, pregnancy and maternity, marriage, sexual orientation*. The EHRC promotes equality and protect human rights in a number of ways. The EHRC can provide information to individuals so that they know what their rights are.
