Serum amylase rises within 6 to 12 hours of the onset of acute pancreatitis. Serum lipase rises within 4 to 8 hours of the onset of symptoms, peaks at 24 hours, and returns to normal within 8 to 14 days. Although our patient did consume alcohol few days before presentation, a negative alcohol screen and normal pancreatic enzymes on presentation make alcohol a less likely offender. Interestingly, since pancreatitis developed after patient tested positive for salmonella bacteremia, it seems the likely cause of pancreatitis.

I personally have gotten strep throat every season since I was 10 that’s six years I’ve had it in a row. It’s really easy to go to the doctor and then they give me antibiotics and in two days I can go back to school and I feel better. In the years before chemists found the sulfa drugs people would die from things like strep throat and pneumonia. This book was worth reading because even though it’s non-fiction it is an emotion roller coaster with many stories of success using the sulfa drugs. Recommending it to a friend I would tell them if you want to learn more about diseases and what the Nazis accomplished by doing the horrible things they did.

A company by the name, Salio, were monitored for up to 7 months, when they gave their workers treadmill desks. The study showed that the workers energy levels increased and the workers burned extra calories. I never thought it this way, but it also told us that sitting for two hours cancels out 20 minutes of working out because it creates a 90 percent decrease in enzymes that are used to burn our fat. That was super shocking to me because after working out I always shower and watch television or do something lazy because I feel like I can since I worked out. It was also founded that children that walked to school did better on tests that day.
