Gaunt Faces and physically and mentally exhausted bodies plagued the majority of the Jewish- German population from 1933 to 1945. As gruesome as the Holocaust was it was a major turning point in not only German but global history. The culprit? Adolf Hitler and his handful of dysfunctional political accomplices. To emphasize on the statements above the Holocaust caused approximately 6 million deaths of innocent Jews and other “unsatisfactory” members of society including the handicapped and gypsies.

They started taking away the Jews rights, starting with stripping Jewish lawyers and doctors of their clients, dissolving businesses, and confiscating property. September 1939 the German army took over Western Poland. The German police officers forces tens of thousands of Jews out of their homes and forced them to live in ghettos since their properties were taken away from them. Overpopulation, unemployment, hunger, and poverty made the ghettos very unhealthy and a very likely place to catch diseases. Just like Aung San Suu Kyi, lots of people witnessed, civilians under a brutal ruler with no rights.
The Holocaust was one of the worst events to ever happen to mankind. It was started by the Fuhrer of Germany, Adolf Hitler. He thought that the Aryan race was superior to every other race. He had a massive hatred for the Jewish race and decided to try and exterminate every living Jewish person. He killed around two-thirds of all the European Jews (Byers 10).
All the horrors in the concentration camps were a nightmare. The concentration camps were miserable because they tortured people, made them work under poor circumstances, and even killed them. In 1933 Hitler opened the first concentration camp, where they did all these things. In the concentration camps they tortured people for being different. They were tortured so much that they didn’t understand their greatness anymore.

From the years of 1940 - 1945 “the Germans and their collaborators had murdered six million European jews” (www.ushmm.org). Under the dictionary definition for evil it reads “profoundly immoral and malevolent” both words which describe the holocaust. The extremes the people who committed the atrocities during WWII as to complete Hitler’s Final solution went completely away from the principals of being right. The acts they did on those people were vile and violated each and every innocent person 's human right, making it extremely evil.
Over 11 million civilians were murdered in between the time period of January 30, 1933 to May 8, 1945. These innocent people were murdered in various, inhumane ways such as firing line, terrible living conditions, gassing with the use of carbon dioxide and Zyklon B, and forcing people to work until death. The Holocaust is one of, if not the darkest time in the history of human life on Earth. Many people committed suicide or suicide by guard because they did not and could not stand the conditions they were forced to live in. Most knew what their fate was and when it came time for them to meet their fate, they would kill themselves or have guards kill them.
