Softball is the best sport ever. It provides more than sport skills, it gives life skills. The reasons are it gives amazing teamwork experience, time management skills, and also promotes a healthy lifestyle. These are all abilities that can be used later on in life.
Some people might think that teamwork is provided by all sports. Softball is different. The team is like a body and if all the parts don’t work, they’ll lose the game. Each player is a different part, like the pitcher is the heart. If the pitcher doesn’t pitch how will the game work? For example, when I was in 5th grade we had a weak pitcher so we lost almost every game. But when I was in 3rd grade we had a very strong pitcher, who had been pitching for her whole career and we won 1st place in the league.

According to the Bureau of Labor the amount of time on average spent on an after-school sport is 2 hours. But these students also have to do their homework and go to school. Which according to BLS takes about 7.5 hours. The students also have to sleep which they say is about 8.1 hours. So softball players have amazing time management.
Softball also promotes a healthy lifestyle. Softball helps physical health along with your mental health also. According to NCAA after-school sports help with depression, anxiety and other mental issues. But softball especially helps because from personal experience, your teammates are always there for you and will be there during an emotional breakdown.
In conclusion, softball helps develop certain life abilities that can not be taught by a normal teacher. It helps with your future and has people that you can always depend on.It is the non-blood family, that you can trust more than your blood family. Softball is by far the best sport to
There is usually only one primary pitcher on a fast-pitch softball team for the season. An overhand pitch is used in high school baseball, and the stress on the joints is such that players may only throw up to 105 pitches per game, with days between games also regulated (Regular Season Pitching Rules, n.d.). In softball, the underhand windmill pitch has less joint stress, so softball pitchers do not have a limit on number of pitches or innings. They will pitch the entire game, and often two games back to back, tallying up 200 or 300 pitches in a day. Pitchers must be in excellent physical condition to keep up this
Attention all girls softball coaches and hitters. This will explain why performing softball drills with pitching machines hinder more than help. Due to pitching machines, most girls softball hitters never really reach their greatest hitting potential! Girls softball teams use pitching machines because it is very difficult to throw strikes from a live hand in batting practice.
I love softball. In softball to a achieve a great swing you need to be inside the batters box. Then, lift your bat to your ear level, you take a step with your front foot, swing the bat and pivot your back foot while you are swinging. If these steps are followed correctly or not done in the right order, you should construct your swing and keep practicing. Just like an empire should.
The first reason softball is harder than baseball is because of hitting. Most college softball pitchers pitch the ball up to 70 mph from 37 feet away, from that distance it takes the ball 0.35 seconds to cross the plate. Most MLB pitchers reach speeds of 100 mph from 60 feet away, from there it takes the baseball 0.38 seconds to cross the plate. The decision time for the batter in softball is only .025 seconds which is 55% less time than an MLB player. In baseball
Being involved in sports teaches vital life lessons that will promote you to overcome challenges you endure in everyday life. The passion and leadership required in the sport of softball reflect the qualities to be successful in my education. My life-long experiences in softball have helped me develop into the person I am today in pursuing my academic career. Through my background of being highly committed to the game, taking on leadership roles and balancing academics with athletics it has prepared me for college. Softball is very meaningful to me and is one of my main commitments.
There isn’t a huge difference between softball and baseball other than a couple rules and the gender playing the sport. People who don’t go outside as much most likely suffer from illness. Some people can’t go outside because they have certain illnesses that won’t let them. Some people just chose not to go outside and that isn’t very healthy. Kids these days usually have an excuse such as playing video games or saying they have nothing to do outside.
At first you might not think you’re good but you can get better. That was my reasoning on why you should play softball. Along with some facts about the sport. A lot of girls play the sport and I hope that you will too.
When I first joined softball I remember it being such a beautiful day it was really fresh out in the softball field, the sky was light blue with birds flying high above, and the softball field’s grass was dark green and looked great for a picnic. I felt all alone in the big diamond field, my head had second thoughts as I seen all those other girls who were also going out for softball talking to their friends as they were waiting for the coaches to get to the softball field. Since I knew no one and was the youngest one out there going out for softball, I said to myself, I should not come back tomorrow, even though deep inside I knew I wanted to join. I had that second thought mostly because I was lonely and I didn't know anyone. I didn’t give up, I went out to tryouts everyday until the teams were made.
Sports are all good for your mind, especially ones that involve lots of running. Softball doesn’t involve as much running as say football or soccer, but it does involve sprinting from base to base and when in outfield. Running in any form is good for you, so that’s a pro for me playing. Sports have both mental and physical benefits for the person playing. The
Baseball is considered by many to be America’s favorite pastime. Softball in many aspects is similar to baseball but in reality it is harder to play. This can be shown in all aspects of the game from hitting to pitching to fielding to catching. One major aspect where the difference is obvious is hitting. It has been scientifically proven that a 95 mph fastball generates 2411 lbs of force as it crosses the plate and a softball thrown at 65mph generates even more according to youtube.com.
The third reason people should play baseball is because it helps keep you healthy through exercise. For example, in the article “Top 10 Health Benefits of Baseball” by Health Fitness Revolution, it says, “Swinging, running, catching and even walking to and from the dugout are exercises that may amp up your metabolism and burn calories.” People can burn a lot of calories and won’t have to stay constantly running. But when you do run, it makes your heart stronger.
Over the years I’ve gotten stronger, faster, and overall better at softball. Four years into it and I have some great and some painful stories. I’ve learned many things about softball, but one that has stuck out to me and that also applies to life is that it can be fun.
I play softball because of the love I have for the game, and because of the feeling that takes my breath away every time I step onto the field. The softball field at Glendale Community College is now my new home for the next two years. Hearing your name being called and lining up alongside the first base line with your teammates before the game makes you feel worthy and excited to play such an amazing sport. As we gather in a tight circle just before we rush to our positions,
A softball field is very simple. It has this red tinted dirt, fresh cut green grass, 4 white bases, freshly white chalked lines, and a group of girls that love the game. The softball field is so simple, but yet so beautiful to look at and play on. The cages come along with the softball field as well. The cages or even more simple than the field, all it has is a net, some turf ground, a bucket of
Baseball and softball are sports with the same background. The two sports are known to be the same by people who do not play either of them. In both sports, there are two teams, one on defense and one on offence, battling for a common number of seven innings to see which team scores the most runs at the end. Although baseball and softball are very similar sports, differences exist such as: the pitching, field setting, and ball differencing. Both baseball and softball pitchers on the defensive side are striving for the same concept and that is to strike out the batter up to bat.
