Speech is a gift from the god to mankind. A human voices his/her opinions through speech. Hence, it’s a basic right given to us at birth and therefore everyone has a right to Freedom of Speech (Freedom of opinion & expression). Freedom of Speech is a right which is provided to us by the Constitution of India which is given in article 19. In the light of guaranteeing individual rights which were considered necessary by the framers of the Constitution. The right to Freedom in Article 19 certifies the Freedom of Speech and Expression as one of the six Freedoms. Freedom of Speech and Expression means the right of a person to express his or her ideas and opinions. Freedom to express one’s view is the way of preserving the democracy and if any measure would be taken to restrain, perish this act would simply mean to devalue democracy and to endorse authoritarianism or dictatorship.
