God has given every single human the right to live his/her life in the manner one wants to. But some less fortunate’s can’t even enjoy their right of being even born. It has many reasons such as miscarriage, abortions, death at the time of delivery etc. talking about abortions India is amongst the top players in the list. Abortions have many reasons such as unwanted pregnancy, lack of resources to nurture & bring up the child, pre-natal sex determination etc. Aborting female child after sex determination is known as female foeticide. It is practicable mostly in backward regions where people have narrow mentality and conservative approach towards having and bringing up their children. It requires both a cruel and foolish mind to murder a child in the womb itself. In a country like India where …show more content…

Parents have to spend money on a girl’s marriage so they find a rather simple way to eradicate the so called “problem” and kill the unborn baby.
The main reason behind female foeticide is the orthodox society. It imbalances the sex ratio and promotes criminal acts. Having multiple causes, rather excuses don’t make this sin acceptable. If it is wrong then it simply is. In a culture where males are valued over females elective abortions of female fetuses are common. From the ancient scriptures, one can find instances where men are glowingly praised as the key to continue the family lineage. With the legalization of abortion in India, illegal sex determination and abortion have become everyday realities. The cost of an abortion is nothing compared to the expenses of having and raising a child, especially a girl child.
