The Sahara Desert is the world's largest hot desert, located in North Africa.
The Sahara covers large parts of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania ,Mali, Morocco, Niger, Western Sahara,
Sudan and Tunisia.
Its surface area of 9,400,000 square kilometres (3,630,000 square miles) including the Libyan Desert and covers about 1/4 of the African continent.It is comparable to the respective land areas of China or the United States.
The Sahara is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the western edge, the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Red Sea on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south.

Emi Koussi, a peak in the Tibesti Mountains is 3,415 metres (11,204 feet) high and the highest point in the desert.

The Great Mahele affected all the lands of Hawaii. Hawaiian land redistribution was proposed by King Kamehameha III in the 1830s and enacted in 1848. Because the whites wanted to have Hawaii become more like America, they influenced King Kamehameha III to change from feudal system to a system where people own their own land. This Great Mahele or Land Division causes a lot of political, social, and cultural changes that will be discussed later in this paper. Today, we also see how this Land Division is shown through how we have private ownership of land.

Without the camel, trade across the Sahara would have been impossible. Sometimes slaves carried goods as well. Travel by camel caravan was slow, strenuous, and dangerous. Gold and Salt was the most important industry. Another thing they traded was copper.
The Mountains and Basins are the driest and windiest region in Texas. This region is located throughout west Texas and is mostly desert. The vegetation that can possibly thrive in this remote area are mesquite trees, mesquite grass, cacti, and desert brush. There were three major things that led to the deaths of the Jamestown colonists. They were: starvation, lack of people to fill occupations and drought. Other deserts include the Syrian Desert in the Middle East, the Great Basin Desert in North America, the Patagonian Desert in South America and the Great Victoria Desert in Australia. Hot deserts usually have high temperatures in the day and low temperatures at night, due to the lack of cloud cover.
