“Family is not always blood. It is the people in your life who want you in theirs. The ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what.” –Unknown-
This quote is powerful it says even if you are not related people can still be your family to love, and support you. It shows that someone can have unconditional love for you no matter who you are, or where you come from. The biggest influence that impacts a person’s life the most is family. If you do not have a family to love you, support you, and pick you up when you fall, you have nothing.
Michael Oher was in a situation where he had no one to love, care, and support him. With a mother on drugs and a father nowhere to be found. Michael had a very hard life. In the ABC

The Michael Oher story is a perfect example of love, and support. Michael was in need, and the Touhy family took him in, and treated him like their own. Mrs. Touhy said in an ABC News interview “I just think Michael needed somebody, and it was evident that there was nobody in his life, and it just broke my heart. And very quickly, I just fell in love with him.” Mrs. Touhy cared, and saw Michael was in need, and so their family took him in to their home to not only love him, but support him, and help him so he did not go down the wrong path.
Nevertheless, as said already the Touhy family loved, supported, and cared for Michael. This is something Michael had never had before, and because of all of these things Michael had the drive and courage to keep moving forward. The Touhy family was the key for Michael to success. In the ABC News interview Collins Touhy said “I was Collins he was Michael and that was pretty much it…he was like a brother to me.” The whole family loved Michael for who he was, and it did not matter where he came from, or the color of his skin. All that mattered was that he knew they were there no matter
Unfortunately, Josh and Joey were far away from home in a different area with contrasting scenery and with diverse people. Most importantly,
Most people realize that blood doesn’t make a family, love does. But, is it possible to still be a family but have a very faint or no remembrance of that person? Could someone still be your family and impact you so much, even though the one thing you remember is a book, song, activity, or chore they did with you? Make Lemonade by Virginia Euwer Wolff follows the story of teen mom Jolly, with fourteen year old LaVaughn as her only help, support, and family besides her two children. There are many examples of family members: meaning that are no longer remembered or only few memories remain, blood or no blood.
Family/pg. 442: two or more people who consider themselves related by blood, marriage, or adoption. The video showed how in Libby, Montana family is the number one priority. One of the men interviewed in the video, Les with asbestosis, showed a great example of this.
Krishaun the other young man in the documentary all the difference, had many hardship in life, His mom is a single mom and worked hard o support her family. The sacrifices an individual makes for the sake of others really says something about them as a person. For example, in the story The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards, Caroline takes in Phoebe to be her child, putting her whole life on hold so Phoebe has a chance of having a happy life. To begin, after Phoebe’s birth, David Henry instructs Caroline to take Phoebe to an institution. When she arrives at this run down building, she can’t get herself to do it.
Michael was unable to acquire the basic strength of competence because he was scolded by his father and not allowed to have a normal childhood. Assuming that Michael’s father had always been physically abusive to his children, the level of abuse probably increased around the latency stage for Michael when he would have first became a member of the Jackson 5 at six years old. The latency stage is critical for social relationships and interactions because this is the time when school begins and a child can be around peers of his/her own age. This is usually when self-esteem or self-confidence is developed through peer interaction, so failing this stage can result in a child having a difficult time making friends and building lasting relationships. For Michael, the punishment and ridicule that he received resulted in him feeling inferior and inadequate in his ability as a performer in his father’s
The Significance of Loved Ones “‘The only thing that keeps me alive,” he kept saying, “is to know that Reizel and the little ones are still alive. Were it not for them, I would give up’” (Wiesel, 45). This is said by a Jewish man attempting to fight an onerous and exhausting fight against death. His family was his will to live.
If that is not resilience, I don’t know what is. In the movie, Michael’s goes
Family has to have a good influence on you to make you succeed. Family has to do what every it takes to put you in a good education. Family will put you in a safe environment. Family will do the world for
Moreover, he sacrifices his freedom to return back to Waknuk to be with Rachel. Michael is determined to follow and help his friends as they escape, and he shows great heroism by being smart, brave, and selfless. Michael is a hero because he is smart and the most decisive person among the telepathic group. Firstly, in chapter 8, his parents are not satisfied with the education in Waknuk and they have decided to send him to a school in Kentak; there he learns new things that the rest of the group does not.
This is proof that their relationship has changed because he said that he did hate her in the beginning. It is also important because, Aunt Esther hugged Michael and she would have never in the beginning of the story. So, that is also proof that they have changed and have a good relationship now. Michael and Aunt Esther's relationship like a lot of people's relationships can change over time. Michael and Aunt Esther would fight, accuse, and hate each other in the beginning of the story.
In the beginning, Michael and Esther don’t connect. All they do is scream and fight, they don’t talk their problems out. For example, in paragraphs 1-11, Esther accuses him of punishing her every day for his own unhappiness. Which he then says, “Punish you? I don’t punish you!
He is characterised to be the inferior in their relationship and is almost immediately both the leader and inferior, simultaneously throughout their relationship, as Michael does as Hanna asks, he reads, listens and obeys her every command. He is not just in love with Hanna, but obsessed with her and is quite cunning in the way he manages to create opportunities to see her without his parents ' knowledge. At first, putting his studies aside to spend time with her, he suddenly becomes the top student in his class when it seems that missing class will upset Hanna and consequently spending less time with her. Michael is extremely vulnerable in the
Inverted values for Victorian society in the Clough’s Latest Decalogue “The Latest Decalogue” (1862) by Arthur John Clough is an indirect criticism of the Victorian society, a satire, in which the values promoted are inverted, in order to emphasize the religious and social unrest. The context is also relevant in understanding the poem; this means that the Victorian Age was influenced by the revolutions, which came up with new ideas, new values such as freedom, social mobility, industrial and social development. The title of the poem is formed by an adjective (”the latest”) and a noun (”Decalogue”). Intertextuality comes up here, because Decalogue is another term for the Ten Commandments appearing the Bible in Exodus 20:2-17 and in Deuteronomy 5:6-21.
Another example would be Albert and Shug Avery, they are not related but Albert goes and picks up Shug and cares for her when she is sick (Walker, 45). In this book Alice Walker proves that family is not just people who an individual is related to by blood, family can be people who have been there to help an individual when they need it. Most
