Texting and Driving, Is it just teens? Most people say teens are the only ones who text and drive, but in reality many people text and drive who are no longer teenagers. Adults believe they can text and drive and that teens should not. Teens normally have more experience texting than adults. Although many people text and drive, many of them can text and drive without getting in an accident due to the advancement in technology. I am writing an essay to show how I feel about a law on texting and driving, I believe there should be a law. People are killed everyday, many people do not realize how much it distracts you, and it causes many issues between people, these are the reason why there should be a law on texting while driving in South Carolina.
Although Police cannot determine if the driver is texting while driving, and bans are becoming more effective, texting while driving should be banned because transportation cell phone systems are being installed into cars, apps are being made to stop teens from texting, and people are stopping the inappropriate use of mobile devices.
As you can see drunk driving is a serious issue and can cost you your life and someone else 's. Not only is it against the law, but it is one of the most leading causes in automobile related deaths (Kayley). Personally I think anybody driving under the influence should be punished. I am sure you have known or heard about someone being in an accident due to drinking and driving. Think about it, maybe it was a close friend, family member or even a stranger on the news. I have lost loved ones to drunk driving, and I 'm sure many others have as well. Don 't you want to be positive your loved ones lives are as safe as possible. I think anybody driving under the influence should be imprisoned on the first offense. Not only could the driver under the influence hurt themselves, but they could also hurt you.
Each year, drivers who use cell phones cause 1.6 million car accidents and nearly 330,000 injuries. Considering that cell phones are one of the greatest items to happen, it make stuff easier to accomplish without having to do much effort, communicating with anyone around the world, but there should be a limit when it could endanger other people’s lives. It is not only the phones that drivers are distracted by, it is also foods, drinks, conversing, and listening to loud music. Someone can lose their life due to a simple act such as texting and taking a selfie while driving. There are numerous cases that involve a person getting hurt or worse, killed, thanks to a driver being distracted. Clearly, the government and lawmakers need to create stronger laws to eliminate all
She sent her last text but little did you know she was behind the wheel. Some people think it is completely fine to text and drive, but there are facts and very strong opinions that say otherwise. Can’t we all agree that texting and driving is an awful thing? Going on your technology when driving is a horrible thing to do, think about how many people get injured per day or year due to it, how it has an effect on other people, and how can we fix the problem.

Drink Driving should be taken more seriously by people due to the fact that many incidents are caused from people who are much drinking over the limit. Each year in Australia , an average of 35 drivers die from Drink Driving. Lets help bring this number down to 0, Australia needs to take more caution with the amount of alcohol consumed by people. April 27th 2016, an article in The New York Times called “Texting and Driving? Watch out for the Textalyzer” was written by Matt Richtel. In the article it talks about the idea of a device that can inform officers if the driver was texting while driving. It is based off of the idea of a Breathalyzer. In this article it does not seem to be very biased. The author is not really persuading the reader of anything, mostly informing and giving facts.

Anyone who drives would more than likely admit to being distracted while driving. Many forms of distraction exist while driving. The most common forms include texting while driving, focusing the mind on something else, and talking with others in the car. The distractions people take part in create many serious problems like death. People do not realize that the smallest distractions can result in a life changing event. The issue of distracted driving has had some laws against it, but the laws do not do enough. Distracted driving needs stricter laws because major issues result from it including death or serious injuries
Many people think texting while driving is cool and safe. Well it’s not! Texting and driving is the primary reason why many teens and adults get into seriously dangerous car accidents. Car collisions are the leading cause of teen death as well as adults. Individuals who drive while reading or sending text messages are 23% more likely to be involved to be in a car crash which happens within an average of three seconds after a driver is distracted. Texting while driving should be against the law in every state due to car accidents and teenage and adult death.
As you now know distracted driving is a very big risk to take. Distracted driving is dangerous and leads to many deaths and all those laws are there to protect you but people just don’t follow them also all those types of distraction are equally as dangerous as just texting while driving. This topic is very controversial because not everyone agrees but all those risks you take while driving can be avoided and not using your phone while driving can save lives. People should be safer while driving because it can have a good outcome and the roads can be easier and safer to drive
Growing up, I remember the exciting feeling of being able to drive. For me it was a sign of independence. What I didn 't know was that it could easily become a nightmare waiting to happen. Over the last few years the use and need for cellphones has grown steadily. We need them to stay in contact with our love ones, for business, for directions etc. Texting and driving is one of the biggest issues in the United States. Drivers are endangering the lives of themselves and others. Which is why I believe that stricter laws should be created and enforced. I believe reducing the amount of fatalities and accidents rest solely on stricter enforcement of laws. For instance enforcing stricter laws for gun control
Transition: Now that I have introduced my topic, I would like to begin by talking about hazards and harms of texting and driving.
One of the greatest death causes while driving for many years was because of individuals driving under the influence of alcohol. However, alcohol is no longer the only reason why so many deaths are being caused out in the streets while driving. Society is so consumed by this one thing that even while driving it cannot wait. Those who are driving do not understand the danger they put themselves and others in when they give their attention away from the road and everything around them. This small device in the hands of people while driving has caused many deaths in our world. People will always have arguments for either one side, saying that texting is more dangerous while driving or drinking. After reading the research that was made, those who are entrusted while driving might have a different insight of the impact they can cause around them if not being responsible.
When driving a vehicle, thinking about the effects it will have on others might be the last thing on a person 's mind. Getting into an accident can be horrific, especially if the cause is drunk driving. Drunk drivers put lives at risk, as they can swerve uncontrollably and crash into innocent bystanders or other drivers. Automobile accidents occur daily, whether it is from a distracted driver, drunk driver or a sudden crash. However, drunk driving accidents and deaths related to them are totally preventable. Once drunk driving can come to an end, more people will feel safer to drive everyday.
