Kurt Vonnegut also uses the bombing of dresden as to strengthen his anti-war novel. As the killing of innocent people in the Bombing of dresden made Kurt Vonnegut really upset giving him a strongly negatively opinion against war .The alternative title The Children Crusade means that soldiers in the warfare, are"children" implying that they are inexperienced and innocent. Vonnegut has chosen the word "children" as children have no duty in the war thus the war should not be occurring and reoccurring. The theme warfare is prevalent throughout the story, as it is emphasize heavily through Billy Pilgrim experience. Vonnegut terrible war experience inspires him to write a story on the depth of war.
Present throughout the book is the theme of disillusionment. In the school, they’ve been told by their schoolmasters and parents that unless they join the war, they would remain cowards. They see propaganda after propaganda, all alluding towards the glory of battle and warfare. Out on the front, they realize that nothing was further from the truth. Their dreams of being heroes shattered, like when they compare themselves to the soldier on a poster in chapter 7.

Ya it is kind of hard for me and my family because my dad has infection and his ankle broke a year ago, his shoulder was broke at about 2 years ago and it still not fully healed. Now his heart is skipping beats. His one lung is all scared and his other lung might be getting that bad too. I just wish the doctors would figure him out. It is hard because my dad has lost over 65 pounds in less than a weak.
