The glass is not half empty, it’s half full. Madame Loisel was the type of person who was never happy with her life and looked at the empty part of life and what she didn’t have. Her jealousy and desires eventually led to her dreams coming true but turning right back around and biting her in the back. The day of the party she evolved into three different people. At firsts she was ungrateful for what she already had and wanted way more, then at the party she finally got what she wanted and was happy and felt loved, after she lost the necklace she became depressed but ended up proving herself to be caring and thoughtful. Jealousy and comparison never do any good and appreciation and thankfulness is the key to life. Before Madame Loisel attended the party she was constantly unhappy and ungrateful from the little things she owned. The necklace made her complete and made her feel all the emotions she desired for. When she lost it, she felt like a part of he was missing and she will never be the same. She was shocked and for the first time in the story she actually cared about something other than herself. When she got home she realized what happened and told her husband "I . . . I . . . I've no longer got Madame Forestier's necklace...”
 (3). Her stuttering showed her true feelings and how horrified she felt. When Loisel and her husband decided to take full responsibility and pay for the necklace a new side of them was revealed. Little did they know that the necklace is fake and they gave up their needs to pay for the necklace; “At the end of ten years everything was paid off, everything, the usurer's charges and the accumulation of superimposed interest”(6).
