Inbound Logistics comprise of receiving raw materials from high quality suppliers and storing and distribution of these materials at the factory.
As a large food and beverage company Nestle is involved in sourcing quality goods for the purpose of transforming these items into what is known as Orchard Juice’s and drinks. They are focused on driving innovation and engaging effectively with their consumers and they strive to keep their products relevant with consumers today in the ever increasing competitive market.
At Nestle sales and marketing is done by the identification of Nestle’s target customers', selling the benefits the company offers and persuading customers to choose Nestle’s products and services over their competitors. In addition to the high quality and healthy products they offer Nestle actively advertise the benefits of these products on their product packages, website and on social media. For Eg. Each juice pack includes a clear and user friendly nutritional compass which allows consumers to understand the nutrition information on the product and how it benefits them. Also, Nestle has several wellness tools and tips on their website which not only attract customers but keeps them engaged and win them over. In the early 2000s, The Boeing Company faced many challenges with increasing competition in the commercial aircraft market. To remain competitive, they began the development of their 787 Dreamliner aircraft using an unconventional approach in terms of supply chain management. The historical approach that Boeing used on previous aircraft designs required Boeing to procure raw materials and subassemblies from several different suppliers and manufacture the final assembly in house. Another strong resource KHC can utilize is focusing on nutritious products. As the foodservice industry continues to grow, KHC should further explore on expanding its product portfolio to include healthier options. Natural and organic brands, as well, as small labels buying from local farms, have become an essential part of the consumer lifestyle (Tarkan, 2015).
