In Scratch beginnings, Adam Shepard tells the story from a homeless persons point of view to show appreciativeness. Shepard says “More than anything else over the course of my project, I grew to appreciate, even more than before , that we live in the greatest country in the world.” (213). By becoming homeless and leaving everything he had makes him a lot more encountered in working hard for what he wanted and where he wanted to get in life.
