This comparison is based off the Although Nancy Drew has modern technology equipment to help her, Sherlock Holmes is a better detective because his powers of deduction, instinctual actions, and reliance on a sidekick help him be more efficient.
Watson, Sherlock Holmes’ partner, is his long time friend throughout the Sherlock Holmes series. Having a strong bond with your partner can be vital to solve a case. On Page 3 Sherlock Holmes said, "but you are a conductor of light.” This quote from Sherlock Holmes is a phrase similar to the one in Stars Wars, “We are the spark that will light the fire that will burn the First Order down.” Here just like in the book, they are talking about how they are the people that will help the rest of the galaxy

After hearing this, Watson was outraged and should have left Holmes for his deception. However, because the two have such a trusting bond, Watson stayed to help solve the rest of the case. During the time of Sherlock Holmes, the most technical gadgets were candels and taxi wagons, meaning Sherlock Holmes used a lot of modern technology during his time as a detective. Sherlock Holmes, “the second smartest man in Europe”, amazing powers of deduction are his most important and effective tool in solving crimes. A deduction is defined as, the action of deducting or subtracting something. The reasons deductions are so effiecent is becuase they are always there, in your brain. This makes them usable any where at any time. However, Sherlock Holmes’ are so efficient becuase Sherlcok Holmes only dabbles in a few subjects that will help him solve his case. This power can be useful in the real world becuase you can keep yourself safe, judge other people, and help others. Also, everyone has what the call a “sixth-sense” or pure insticts, and after being around so many cases, Sherlcok Holmes’ instincts are suberpeb. His quick instincts on the job can sometimes rely on his powers or deduction, but his quick instincts are what keeps people safe and helps him solve cases.
