KTA Framework served as an ideal tool to guide this EBP project for many reasons. Increase in school violence and bullying is a well-documented problem and seems to be increasing in nature and severity. This framework not only recognizes when action needs to be taken, but also demands that knowledge be created as well as acted upon. There has been an increase in documented research regarding bullying, ranging from psychological symptoms to ecological symptoms to future personality traits on part of both the perpetrator and the victims. The framework also incorporates states that knowledge needs to be adaptable to fit the local surroundings. Therefore, each community will have different factors that increase or decrease bullying.
