Because of this, Esperanza feels like she does not deserve to feel pretty. A proof of this is when Esperanza says, “ Everybody is laughing except me, because I’m wearing the new dress, pink and white with stripes, and new under clothes, and new socks and the old saddle shoes I wear to school, brown and white, the kid I get every September because they last long and they do” (47). Esperanza notices how everyone is having a lot of fun at the party, except for herself, because she’s wearing her chanclas. The one thing that hold Esperanza back from feeling pretty and having a good time are her shoes. Her family cannot afford to get Esperanza new shoes for special occasions, so she’s stuck wearing the same shoes she wears to everyday to school to the party.
For months after this, Stargirl was still behaving like her kookie self with everyone thinking of her as weird. Until she was cheerleading at the game where the Electrons scored their first touchdown. Due to this, the cheerleaders invited her to be an actual cheerleader, and when she accepted, her popularity skyrocketed. Because of that, people started conforming to her,“We honored her by imitation.A chorus of ukuleles strummed the lunchroom...The pet shop at the Mica Mall ran out of rats.” Because Stargirl did not conform to the students they conformed to be more like
Since they loved their mother so much, they would definitely do the special task and knew that doing it would make their mother feel overjoyed, which would make them feel overjoyed, too. For instance, whenever the mother would come home, the girls would always feel happy and cheery no matter what was going on: “Somehow the sight of the old shoes had a good effect upon the girls, for Mother was coming, and everyone brightened to welcome her” (Alcott para 1). The strong love between the mother and the girls partly helped push the girls to choose to help the immigrant family. Also, not only does the secure bond between the mother and the daughters help influence the girls to make the conclusion to help the family but, it also helps impact the needy family, later explained in this paragraph. For example, when the mother proposes to the girls to go and help the family on Christmas morning by giving them their breakfast, they’re silent at first, but then the girls say: "‘May I go and help carry the things to the poor little children?’ asked Beth eagerly.
For example, at one point when trying to sabotage Regina, Cady takes advantage of teenagers’ need to fit in and be part of a group. Cady tricked Gretchen into thinking that she had received a candy cane gram from Regina when she actually sent it to herself. Once Gretchen thought that Regina didn’t like her she spiraled out of control because she was so worried about being kicked out of the group. Additionally, in the movie everyone seems to be star struck by Regina George, this is evident in the beginning of the movie when they interview many people of different cliques in the school and they all seem to think that Regina is some kind of goddess. Even the principal seems to know what is going on in Regina’s life as he even gives a detailed account of when and where got back together with her ex-boyfriend.
One girl was brave enough to open the magical door which was luckily next to the stairs so if somting bad happened the could run upstairs and hide or run for there life .So when she opened the door it was Chica The Chicken From the horror game Five Nights At Freddys she would normally attack but that day she was very nice she brought 60 cupcakes for us! Chica was the star of the party! Everyone was sad when she had to leave the next day. Every year Chica visits again.
It’s very ironic that the narrator keeps referring everything towards the color white, which normally represents purity and the girl is constantly lying about her ethnicity. “ Dresses came straight out the window of Madison Blanche” she described this store in a high manner as if only high class people shopped there even the translation of “ Madison Blanche” means white house. It’s no secret that during these times black people were viewed as less, compared to caucasian people. So it’s not really a shocker that the narrator has the girl going around lying because she can easily get away with it. “Then washed my mouth out with Ivory soap” this is a very old school tradition that parents did to children when they found out that they were cursing.
The text states “Eventually- in fact within the week- a kind and intelligent boy who lived very near her beautiful house asked the girl to a movie, and she gave up her fancy for the bag boy at the supermarket.” This text is after she decides not to go into the bag boys line. The huge change is that throughout the entire story she is “deeply in love” with the bag boy. Then just after not going into his line one time, she already has another date within the week. She also describes the house as beautiful, which shows how her views have changed since the beginning of the story. The girl also goes from liking the bag boy, to then going on a date with a smart intelligent man.
Her powers of caring and compassion can touch any student that walks down the halls. If you ever have a problem in school..... "Have no fear Mrs. Richey is here! "Just shine her logo in the sky and she will be there in a second. Bullies, students, and parents will shroud in fear when this mighty hero comes to town. Angie might look like a sweet and short little lady, but if you mess with her ducklings.
In Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli, Stargirl, a new student at Mica High, mixes up the lives of all the students and teachers. Her popularity skyrockets, and she ends up friends with almost everyone in the school. Suddenly, her popularity drops rapidly. Hillari, the most popular girl at school, influenced all the students, except one, to dislike Stargirl. The only friends she has left are Leo and Cinnamon, her pet rat.
Jades character gets interpelated into society in a number of ways. The first time it happens is in the beginning when she runs into her dad at the mall and awkwardly must tell him that she got her period which leads to him buying a million different feminine hygiene products and leaving Jade embarrassed. When Jade tells the story to her friend Cori she responds “You…you had to go to the drugstore with your Dad?” More laughing. “That’s… the funniest thing…ever.”(page 70) It’s meant to be a joke because girls aren’t supposed to get their dads to buy feminine products they are supposed to ask their moms, guys in general in our society aren’t the ones who are “supposed” to be buying tampons. For example in the short story The Heroic Quest of Douglas Mcgawain, Douglas and his friend Rick are going out to get for soda for their girlfriends when Douglas’es girlfriend Tracy asks him to buy her tampons.
Anytime anyone had errands to run, they would always call Jeannette. She was a sweet girl that the entire town had loved from the moment she and her mother moved there when she was six years old. The serene town never had many visitors, so it came as a surprise to everyone when the day after Jeannette’s twenty second birthday a bright, shiny, and obviously
As Nevaeh entered her school, her palms were sweating and her heart was racing. As she raced to first block she tripped on a textbook and fell into the trash can. The trash can had a putrid smell of rotten tomatoes that made Nevaeh scowl. Everyone in the hall laughed and took pictures, Nevaeh’s face turned bright red. “Great,” she thought, “I will be the next trend in social media for the next day”.
