Waking up around one in the morning is what I definetly did not expect or anticipate; however, the reason why I was awoken was all because of Miss Maudie’s house burning to the ground. I was awoke by my father, Atticus. “ Wake up Jem, Miss Maudie’s house is on fire”. I was shocked to hear the news and I bounced out of my bed to the living room. While Father woke up Scout, I tried to stay awake and not fall asleep again. “Whose house is it?” “Miss Maudie’s, hon.” At the front door I watched as flames were shooting out of the inferno of the Maudie house.
