Critically analyze 5 ethical characteristics/ qualities which you would consider essential for secondary school teachers? Justify your answer with examples.
Teaching is considered as a noble profession in the world. As such, it is not in everyone’s hands to fulfill this responsibility correctly. Indeed, it is not easy to teach and gain secondary student’s interest in learning as they are going through some complex and difficult phases in their life. Thus, it takes someone who is characterized by certain things, hence can fully accomplish the aims of the teaching profession.
Firstly, I would say that an educator at secondary level should be someone who is passionate about his work (SJU, 2015). Also, it is at school itself where students are shaped to become citizens of tomorrow. Therefore teachers should have the skills needed to accomplish this difficult task of making learners think and act appropriately. Indeed, when the competence of educators, such as the latter doing their job half-heartedly, is brought into question, parents will think about what their wards are going to learn at school. Which is why, to have an ardent attitude towards teaching is important. One way to obtain this attitude is to further one’s own learning.

The latter pick up easily when his teacher is lacking in his teaching. He does not show that dedication or enthusiasm needed to engage students’ attention in learning. As a result, the latter themselves are not excited to learn. I agree that teaching is not an easy profession. It has its up and downs, that is every teacher faces good days as well as bad days.
