Notoriety a Modern Myth High profile court cases have been getting increasingly popular as time goes on. Court cases like the Casey Anthony and Scott Peterson trials are media dynamite. Although the media is legally allowed to be a part of these court proceedings, they still cause drama and stipulations that many feel would not be a factor if their presence were withdrawn. Notoriety, or being famous for bad deeds, is a characteristic engulfing many of Hollywood’s elite personnel; for this reason, many high profile cases have become even more of a media magnet. Many may believe that notoriety is a determining factor in high profile cases, but all legal proceedings are conducted in the same manner whether heavily documented in the

When talking about Bill Cosby and him allegedly raping over 50 women, it is going to take time to get to the bottom of this trial. I feel as though if the women had been rape they should have said something back when it first happened. This has been untried and unpunished fro fifty years; why would anyone take the time out to try and put him in jail all these years later? I feel as though some of those women are lying because if the rape was that serious, they would have spoken up when it first happened. If I were to get raped, I would go to the police right after it happened and I would put the man that did it away fast so he wouldn't hurt anyone else again.

But, based on the tone on social media, people think the dismissed defamation lawsuit means that Bill Cosby is in the clear. He isn 't. The journalist is claiming Cosby as innocent and anyone who questions his allegations are automatically blaming him. In contrast to WorldNetDaily, a CNN news report leans more towards liberal and why Cosby is an alleged rapist. For instance, the article focuses on how Cosby openly admitted possessing drugs while having interest to have sex with women. The report stated, “ Cosby admitted that he acquired seven prescriptions of sedatives with the intent to give them to women he wanted to have sex with” (CNN 2). This concludes how Cosby legitimately possessed drugs at the time with the intention to have sex with these women.
His lawyer told him that was the thing for him to do especially with having an all-white jury. An incident occurring between Kaitlynn Kelly and Calvin Smith is a prime example of the court system’s failure. Kaitlynn met Calvin one night and invited him up to her room for casual sex. Once she noticed that her roommate was in the room asleep, she withdrew her consent and said they would just lay there and go to sleep.
