Angel Gonzalez was an uneducated Hispanic man from Illinois who spoke little to know English. Him and another man were both accused of abducting a woman out of her apartment building and then raping her. Angel Gonzalez was convicted for a crime he didn’t commit because he signed a confession in English and he didn’t speak English; however due to the hard work of the innocence projects he was exonerated due to DNA evidence.
On July 10 1994 a woman was abducted by two men and then raped. At the beginning of the crime both men went to her apartment, where they buzzed into the victim’s apartment. Project innocence writes “after the two men buzzed in the woman went downstairs after it had rang and no one had come up” (Innocence Project,2). After the victim had come downstairs the two men grabbed her. Innocence Project reports “The men that grabbed her forced her into a car where they drove to a backyard several blocks away where they both raped her” (Innocence Project, 2). Prior to the trial the police questioned him in English, and he provide alibis. They questioned him in English despite him barley knowing the language and him being awake for a day straight. NBC reports “four witnesses corroborated his alibi that he was visiting his girlfriend during the time of the crime” (NBC,5). After a lengthy interrogation Gonzalez was tricked into confessing to the crime. ABC news states “He had signed a confession written by police in English, despite him speaking very little English” (Horng,2). Because he had signed the confession there was little to know hope for his defense. In 1963, Ernesto Miranda was arrested in Pheonix, Arizona for the kidnapping and raping of a woman. When questioned by police officers, Miranda would eventually give a confession, and sign it, which wasn 't the case.. Before the court, this confession would be used against Miranda, and with it, the implication that it was received voluntarily and with the convicted knowing his rights. Miranda was convicted with a 20-30 year sentence. Upon eventually learning that his confession was obtained unlawfully, Miranda would appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court, asking for an overturn, and when that fell through, would turn to the United States Supreme Court, filing a habeas corpus.
Larry W. Davis was falsely accused for sexual assault and compliance to rape in 1993. Davis was put on trial and eventually sentenced to 23 years and 6 months in prison for something that he did not do. Davis was falsely accused and contacted the innocence project through mail. Davis was exonerated through DNA evidence after serving 20 years in prison. Two men broke into a house and sexually assaulted the cleaning lady, the lady was blindfolded and she could not tell law enforcement who really did this crime.

Basically, Arturo is protected so well by his inferiors that it would be a suicide mission for a cop to try to kill him. Arturo has made a lot of money in the organized crime business, but he is greedy so he continues running operations. When his right-hand man Tony messed up a job, even after working for Arturo for 11 years, Arturo decided to kill him to prevent the police from hunting Arturo down since he thought Tony was going to get captured.

The case of Hernandez vs. the State of Texas is one such case which addressed the issue of civil rights of Mexican-Americans during the period after the World War II. Pete Hernandez, one of the immigrant workers, was accused of killing one Joe Espinosa in Edna, the state of Texas, the county of Jackson in the year 1950. There was no Mexican that had been part of the jury for over 25 years. Gustavo Garcia represented the defendant without payment.
The civil rights case of Hernandez .vs. Texas was settled in The Supreme Court on the 3rd of May 1954, changing the lives of Mexican Americans everywhere. Attorneys Gus Garcia, Carlos Cardena, and John Herrera took on a case involving a Mexican man named Pete Hernandez, who was being sentenced to prison on a murder charge. The attorneys wanted to take Petes case because they believed he was being tried unfairly considering, he was sentenced by a jury of all Anglo people. In order for a case to be properly decided, the defendant must be questioned in front of a jury of his own peers to insure that there will not be prejudiced in the jury's ruling.
There are a few things that can bring the town of Odessa, Texas together, football is one. Certain families aggrandize over the sport more than others. There is a direct contrast between the families of Boobie Miles and Brian Chavez. Boobie Miles’ uncle LV Miles always pushes Boobie at home and tries to live out his high school dreams of playing football, which he could not do because of segregation and the black school not having a football program at the time, whereas Brian pushes himself to succeed in both football and academics because he knows that there is life after high school football. Boobie Miles was passed through school not having to do any work, but after he was injured it seemed as though he did not matter anymore.

Richard Ramirez also known as The Night Stalker was a serial rapist, and also a Satan worshiper. He stalked people and broke into their homes while they were sleep and had a plan how to kill them based off their gender. Ramirez was a conflicted individual whose actions lead to extreme heartbreak for numerous families. Richard was a Mexican-American who was born on February 29, 1960 in El Paso, Texas. He had five siblings and was the youngest of them all.
Ramirez while working at the Holiday Inn murdered a little girl who was 9 years old in the basement of the hotel. Ramirez stabbed and raped this little girl and hung her on a pipe.
