Objectives The author proposes to review the available literature on how anger intervention programs could be used to educate single mothers and their daughters to function as strong family unit. The music and arts-based intervention program will be created to reduce anxiety and aggressive behaviors in preadolescent and adolescent girls who were being raised without their fathers. In this review, the author will look at the following three objectives:
1) Gain knowledge of the repertoire of techniques and strategies necessary to understand and assess family dynamics and support families effectively.
2) Appraise the impact of divorce on the family system and challenges that may arise when working with single-parent families.
3) Describe strategies for engaging parents in the learning process.
Children being reared with an absent father are seven times more likely to be incarcerated than children in a two-parent household (Barber, 2004). According to Rubin (2008) a longitudinal study has proven 63% of youths who commit suicide, 85% of youth and children with behavioral disorders, and 71% of high school dropouts were being reared without any fathers. These alarming figures suggested that the children

Lessons in painting, singing, guitar and keyboard, and dance will be implemented. Such exposures will offer these girls and their single mothers with other options for embracing accomplishments, rather than subjecting themselves to internal rejection and anger. The void of the male model might be compensated or redirected and channeled into positive behaviors. The long-term goal will be for the girls and their single mothers to become empowered with a good sense of self-esteem, thus becoming master of their universe as opposed to being captive to their unresolved and unaddressed

Edmund Kemper grew up with a single mother because his parents divorced this becomes a problem because he didn’t have a father role model with him to guide him. There is enough research to conclude that children with parents who are distant with their children and do not supervise them are more likely to engage in criminal behavior. The families tend to be unstable and thus the child becomes
(155). In today’s society, these gender roles are quickly fading away, although there are still some mothers that insist on staying home with her children because they fear the thought of somebody else raising her kids, and missing out on the big milestones of a child’s life. What most of these women may not realize is that they still will be around for these milestones, such as the child’s first words, or them crawling, then walking, because having a job does not consume every minute of the day. They will still be able to spend their time before or after work with their child, in which many of the special moments will take place. There are thousands of single mothers around the world that are forced to raise their child on their own, which means that they must leave their child in the care of someone else, and get a job almost immediately after their child is born in order to earn enough money to support her little family.
Ineffective parenting has so many impact on so many different levels; according to (Erikson, n.d.), “Theory of psychosocial development has eight distinct stages,’ ‘ According to the theory, successful completion of each stage results in a healthy personality and the acquisition of basic virtues. Basic virtues are characteristic strengths which the ego can use to resolve subsequent crises. Failure to successfully complete a stage can result in a reduced ability to complete further stages and therefore a more unhealthy personality and sense of self.” Hence, the need for effective parental presence for guidance of proper development.
Introduction Richard Weissbourd, director of the Human Development and Psychology master’s program at Harvard, put forth his views on the morals of American children. In his essay, “Moral parent, moral child: Family structure matters less to a child's development than the quality of the parenting,” he argues that children are not less likely to have good moral standards if raised in a single parent home. His claim is that parents are in charge of distilling moral values in their children. He feels the government has sorely overlooked the necessity of its role in fostering better parents through education. His idea is stated here, “This country desperately needs to provide high-quality parent-education programs through hospitals and various
April 20, 2023 Negative or positive, children are shaped by those who raised them. Parents influence their child's basic values, like religious values, and issues related to their future, and how they eventually turn out when they’re older. Ada Limon's poem “The Raincoat” symbolizes how a parent influences their child and reflects the comfort and protection parents can offer through simple gestures. Amy Tan’s short story “Two Kinds” demonstrates what the mother wants for her daughter but the daughter does not want for herself, it creates a conflict and gives examples of how a parent may affect a child's life. Both texts reveal that the relationships between parents and children influence how they become later in life and also explain that
Subject: Boys and Girls Club of El Paso Fellow RWS 1301 students, Monday through Friday at 3:00 P.M. thousands of children and teenagers are out of school in El Paso. 1 in 5 of these children have no adult supervision and often, nothing to eat. In a typical Parent-Child relationship the parental figure raises the child until adulthood and occasionally still supports him or her throughout life. According to Sophie Bloom, M.S.L.Ac, by voicing their concerns and their attitudes towards things in the world, parents greatly influence their child and their child’s development. Therefore having a parental figure while growing up is extremely important for a child or a creature's development. A parent abandoning their child can also cause severe consequences later in the child's life. According to Edward Kruk, P.h.D. “(85 percent of youth in prison have an absent father; fatherless children are more likely to offend and go to jail as adults)”.
Becoming a parent is a task that cannot be taken lightly. It is a task filled with frustration, responsibilities and dedication, but is also filled with joy and satisfaction. From children learning how to behave to them going out with friends, rules, standards and expectations are set mostly by their parents. Parents make most of their children’s decision in the first couple of years from behalf from what they eat for breakfast from setting their curfew as they get older. As children began grow, they began to make their own choices and learn to deal with the consequence of their mistakes.
Thus, the attitudes and beliefs about what constitutes as parent involvement are unclearly defined, but the one fact that we can all agree upon is parent involvement has an enormous impact on student 's academic success and social development (Walker,
This mother is strong believer in domestic knowledge and believes that through this wisdom her daughter will be spared from a life of promiscuity or being, in her words, a "slut". Most importantly, it allows readers to see the detrimental measures of gender roles that are brought upon young girls just coming into womanhood. It is through the understood setting, constructive
Parent involvement has been proven to have positive effects on the educational performance and success of the child and has been identified as a strategy in the war against poverty while reducing the achievement gaps displayed by children coming from impoverished homes (Barnard, 2004). It is well documented by the National Center for Statistics (2003) that the earlier parents become involved in the educational process of their child, the educational advantages for the child significantly increases (Vaden-Kierman,
Lack of parental involvement has an effect with children in early childhood As an educator for young children in the field of early childhood, I’ve always tried to do my best for them. I have given thought as to how I could help make a difference in a child’s education and how could I improve my methods and strategies as a teacher. One of the most difficult challenges as an early childhood educator is figuring out how to better engage parents in their child’s learning. I want to follow and understand how, “lack of parent involvement that has an effect on children in early childhood”. Parental involvement is a critical element of high-quality early care and education (Snow, n.d).
