As citizens of Kuwait, we know all too well how fruitful our government is. But, there are those few citizens who do not get to taste the fruits of the bearing tree. Those citizens live in our homes, play in our yards and roam our streets. Those citizens we cast aside are our pets! Every day in Kuwait, animals are beaten, neglected or forced to struggle for their very own survival. Kuwait does not cater to these animals. In turn, they are left in unsanitary conditions with the majority of them roaming our streets. Only a small percentage of these animals are found and rescued. How do our morals and ethics allow us to ignore all this cruelty and injustice to continue? Is an animal’s life any less significant to ours? It is up to us to give these animals a voice, because if we do not, who will? Animal Cruelty in Kuwait Some people are unaware about many of the cruel and terrible injustices occurring in their own back yards. The abandonment, mistreatment, neglect and the abuse of animals are all variations of animal cruelty that can be found in Kuwait. To stop these atrocities against animals, we first have to fully understand the many variations of animal cruelty that is found here.
