But has anyone wondered if the zoo is helping animals or is it the opposite? People had hated zoos for animal captivity and complained that zoos should be illegal. Why is that? Other’s imagine animals in a tight cage as they are treated poorly but that is not the case. Zoos had existed for a while and they have been helping animals ever since.
Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without zoos? Would animals have more freedom and prosper? From my perspective, they would. Some might say that zoos and captivity organizations help save endangered species and can provide a source of entertainment and education, but the benefits of keeping animals in zoos, circuses, and the like are far outweighed by the disadvantages and drawbacks. In my opinion, animals should not be taken into captivity because of their inhumane treatment, lack of natural freedom, and lackluster regulations to defend them.
It says that most animals suffer with stress, boredom and confinement(Lin). This means that animals in zoos are living with problems. However, there is also evidence that supports animals can be better off in zoos. “Good zoos go to every possible length to ensure the animals in their care have a full and high quality life. A large part of this includes creating situations where animals feel pleasure, happiness and contentment as well as mental stimulation”(“Five Facts About Good Zoos”).
Many say that years ago it was a terrible environment for the animals because there would only be a small cage for the animals to walk around in. As the years have past, zoo environments have improved greatly and it is a better choice to put animals in the zoos. Although many people think that animals should stay in the wild, animals should live in zoos because, zoos focus on scientific study and research to help the animals, there is less chance for extinction, and the animals have veterinarians to take care of them when they are sick. Keeping animals from living in zoos is a rather poor choice because, one great way to study many different wild animals that people don’t get to see very often is by going to see them in a zoo. Many different science experimental studies are done when an animal gets sick.
What are we going to do to help the animals? The zoos keep many different animals, and take injured and endangered species in and help them. Many zoos have been working with animals more than anyone to help animals." No other university, conservation organization, or research facility has been working as long or as well as zoos.”Zoos have tried to help animals more than anyone else so why get rid of zoos. Zoos are
That isn't bad because they don't get taken from their home. The video ‘no place like home’ says “Some animals from their home never return to the wild but instead they get sold to another zoo.” although they bring them back from endangerment they never come home after they get healed. In conclusion it should be clear why zoos should be banned because Animal cruelty, too expensive, and getting taking from their home. Do you think zoos should be banned? For?
Animals in zoos are just locked up in cages and have nothing to do and nowhere to go while animals in the wild are free and are allowed to roam wherever they please. What if we would just leave animals alone and let them roam free? When I was younger, I remember going to the zoo and seeing the alligators in their area just laying there looking tired and bored out of their minds. In the article “Humans in the Wild, Animals in Captivity” written by John Leland, “Working in the winter months, she photographed giraffes in rooms painted to look like open savannas, and visitors taunting the animals to get them to wake up and perform.” Leland was talking about a photographer named Viviana Peretti who would take photographs at New York zoos and aquariums, and her conclusion was to observe the exotic behaviors of humans in the wild. This one photograph she took shows how these animals are so deprived of freedom.
Animals are happy to receive the certain treatment and live in presented conditions. Animals in zoos lead peaceful life and are provided with all the necessary needs. Animals are happier in zoos than in the wild, it is
Are zoos good or bad? Most people think that they are good… but they just do not know about the other side of zoos. Female african elephants live 17 years in zoos but when they are in the wild they live 56 years. Zoos are unethical and should let all there animals out because they are bad for humans, hurt and separate animals, and Unhealthy for animals. Zoos are bad for humans, most people do not believe it but zoos are not educating us, they are hurting us.
The answer to that question is the animal’s freedom. People can enjoy these exotic animals from a distance. Whilst these beasts: some of which are nomadic or travel miles; are locked in small habitats for their lives. That is why all Zoos and Aquariums that aren’t preservations or sanctuaries, should be ended. There is a plethora of reasons to do so.
