It has been shown that animation can be a potent tool for narrative, not just for humorous effects but also for tackling difficult subjects. It is a distinctive and significant program because of its capacity to tackle important themes through animation. The program has addressed topics in a way that is both educational and interesting. The Simpsons, thanks to the use of animation, has been able to depict complicated ideas and situations in a way that would be challenging for live-action television. Other animated series can now imitate The Simpsons and tackle important topics while still amusing viewers.

Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. As an audience we seem to accept any world presented to us in films, no matter how ludicrous or incomprehensible that world may be. Certain actions that could be considered crazy in real life, such as singing and dancing down a street, are often justified in film contexts due to hidden codes and conventions. What are these codes and conventions? Why are they present? And how do they go unnoticed to us as an educated audience?

The “Wow” Factor Digital cinematography has become the norm for most films that gain success in today’s movie industry driven by a society wanting bigger and better. The realistic facet becomes an afterthought against the creativity of the movie maker and viewer alike, and today there is an expectation that the viewer will be “wowed” beyond imagination. Special effects are meant to improve and entertainment is meant to thrill. This is apparent in the film “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” released in 2014 which is a remake and extension of the original piece from 1968. Several variations of the movie have been done through the decades, but this latest version increases the effects and takes the film beyond anything previously released.
Learning how to incorporate geometry and shading into a drawing is a vital part of creating a realistic world, and while not all types of animation require every object to be shaded, it is important to think about how light hits objects and the effect it can have on the overall look of a scene. Light was explored even more in-depth in the next project, which was made with charcoal on black paper. Finally, color was incorporated into the analogous and landscape drawings. While not all animation majors are fond of pastel, these projects were important in expanding knowledge of color. The analogous color drawing introduced texture and reflective light into drawings to add a more three-dimensional, and more realistic, feeling to the drawing.
