Overall both agencies were professional and courteous to myself and from my observation to other clients. If needed I believe that the Family Links program would be appropriate and suitable for providing mental health services. However, at Hamlin FCCS there would need to be a referral made prior to requesting services. The staff appeared to be competent and approachable which may increase client engagement and participation.
The NHS will be using both treatment and preventative measures as an approach by giving Adam leaflets and information booklets that will give him a better understanding of his diagnosis, so that he knows what to expect throughout university when he doesn’t have his family close by to support him. By having a better understanding of his diagnosis Adam will be able to educate others around him about schizophrenia and make them understand what may happen to him, by doing this the new people he meets wouldn’t be so alarmed at seeing the symptoms that might come about in Adams everyday life, and also because the doctor is giving him medication in order to treat his diagnosis. With Adams condition he has to be entered into a treatment process which is commonly known as a care programme approach, this process is to see if Adam is getting the right medication and treatment for his needs.
This allows family members to become active participants in the treatment process, which helps build support mechanisms. The facility is run by licensed counselors who are compassionate and take serious the task of helping others through recovery. Payments can be made by credit card,
If you suspect abuse you must record what has lead to this suspicion, find out any information you can in order to help determine if this is the truth, you must inform other carers, your manager, the individuals care manager and the relevant authorities to ensure that this suspicion to be investigated as soon as possible. For example, an individual I care for with learning disabilities and epilepsy made a phone call to the organisation I work in around 10pm and informed me that she was going out, as it is her right to chose when and where she goes I could not tell her she could not do so, instead I asked where she was going, she informed me she was going to a party at a friends house, I then tried to obtain information about where her friends
Many people are supported in their homes by people who work along side the health and social care service such as social workers, nursers ,doctor and care givers or they may get support from their family members and friends. An elderly person may choose to stay in their own homes instead of a residential care home while seeking help and support from others, however this can lead to potential opportunities for abuse happening to the person who Is being looked after. When an individual is getting support at home by a carer, the individual being cared for is vulnerable and defenseless and therefor this makes them a target for abuse, another example is abuse by strangers, when an elderly person lives alone they are at risk of people calling at the door and then gaining access to their homes, they may steal items from them or mistreat them or cause intimidation. A person who is vulnerable and living alone are at risk of physical and sexual because there is no one there to stop this abuse from happening.

It 's been identified that Tomiwa plays up and damages things mostly during the night so there is a list of steps staff members needs to take to ensure that we do everything what we can do to change his behaviour. To implement these changes we need all to work together and give feedback to each other so please feel free to communicate between each other in regards to Tomiwa 's behavior (especially Rasaq and Marlon as you guys don 't have a chance to talk). - ABC charts need to be completed as a part of Tomiwa 's monitoring during the night EVERY time when challanging behaviour occurs. (To make it easier I put the ABC charts together with the Sleep Monitoring Form) - Sleep monitoring charts need to be filled and comments made everytime when
However, the two mentioned ways to overcoming language barrier in the implementation of anti-discriminatory practice in health and social care, the training of staff on how to communicate better with service users for them to understand is the best. This is because the training encompasses all methods, ways and means that must be considered when communicating with people to ensure that they understand clearly what they have being told. In essence in the training they must have being taught the importance of knowing the clients individually and what is their preferred effective method, means and ways that can be used to communicate with that client. This supports people to engage in meaningful activities that are done either every day or frequently and focuses on the patients’ independence. Most patients would have been taught a trade as work was encouraged and routine was implemented to mirror life outside the institution. The patients' labour would also benefit the mental institution as it contributed to its self-sufficiency, consequently, reducing costs. The work was separated by gender with men working outdoors on the farm, market garden or workshops and women were instructed to work only indoors such as in the laundry room, the kitchen and the sewing rooms while keeping the institution clean
1.1 Explain what it means to have a duty of care in own work role. Duty of care means to have a legal responsibility towards others. It is a legal requirement that all health care workers must put the interest of their service users first and make sure that the service users do not come to any harm be it abuse or self-harm. As a care giver, my duty is to provide care according to the organisation’s code of practice in my day to day work, to make sure that my service users are supported and treated with dignity and respect by following the policies and procedures set out by my employer, it is my duty of care to involve service user in their care unless it is not possible for them to be involved. Service should be provided in a safe environment
