Anne was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. Then she moved to Amsterdam, Netherland in 1933 with her family which consist of 4 people including her father, her mother, her older sister, and herself. Anne lived a happy and normal childhood.
Everything changed on September 1, 1939, when Nazi Germany invaded Poland and the Netherlands.
Beginning in October 1940, the Nazi occupiers limited the Jewish rights in Netherlands. Jews were required to wear a yellow Star of David at all times and observed a strict curfew.
On June 12, 1942, Frank 's parents gave her a red checkered diary for her 13th birthday. She wrote her first entry, addressed to an imaginary friend named Kitty.

The very next day, the family went into hiding in an empty space at the back of Mr. Frank 's company building where they were captured on August 4, 1944.
On March 1945 At Bergen-Belsen, food was dirty and diseases spread. Frank and her sister both came down with typhus.

Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who was forced to go into hiding with her family during World War II to escape from the Nazis. As a young teenager, she became famous for her diary and known for sharing her experiences during this terrible time in history.

This was because it was no longer safe in Germany for her Jewish family, the Netherlands was a safer place for the Jews. World War II was a horrible time in the world. Many Jewish people were murdered and killed for nothing more than being born Jewish. Lots of these people were children and one of these Jewish children was Anne Frank. Like many other Jewish people, she was forced into hiding by the Nazi Party and Hitler's regime. During Hitler's regime, Germany sent Jewish families and even children to places called concentration camps where they would be worked until their death.
It gave information which is important to modern day society and how it runs. It also taught people that no matter how bad the situation you should always have hope because it could be the only thing that keeps you from going insane with worry or depression caused by thinking about all of the bad thing that could happen to you or your family. Anne Frank stayed hopeful even when the odds weren’t exactly in her favor. She found a way to change all the bad situations into something better. What people should take away from this story is to always have hope and never let anyone or anything take it from you.

Children during the Holocaust were targeted because they were weak and small, and the Nazis wanted strong and independent Jews who were willing to work, but some children were strong and were able to work in labor camps. The lives of children inside the camps grew up with the grim memories of being separated from loved ones by death and torture. Hitler’s goal was to destroy a whole entire race and by targeting the kids, this would be a faster way of killing many innocent Jews. Depending on the age of the child and the gender, would determine whether or not that child would live because the Germans would rather prefer the boys over girls. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.

The office is known commonly as the “Secret Annex.” Days were spent here in worry, but everyone kept each other alive with love and support. Anne wrote in her diary, which kept her motivated to live. For two years, her and 7 others hid in solitary.
