Felicia Carmelly, currently age 87, is one of the few Holocaust survivors who remains alive today. Her story is riveting and immensely detailed; consequently, it deserves to be remembered for eternity. Being generally knowledgable about the Holocaust is one perspective, however, reading and understanding Felicia’s point of view is much different. The thoroughly haunting events that transpired in Transnistria, orchestrated through the eyes of Carmelly herself, were heart-wrenching to say the least. Before the Holocaust began, Felicia was living a very structured and fairly pampered lifestyle in Dorna, Romania, as an only child.
“Second Chance Summer” by Morgan Matson is a realistic fiction novel telling the story of Taylor Edwards. Despite all she has going on in her life already, their family is given the devastating news that will change their future. Following that, they decided to spend their last summer together at their lake house in the Poconos. Being that the last time they had been there was five years ago, she comes back only to find herself stuck in the middle of lost friendships and relationships. The short, fun days as a little girl that she remembers are now long days spent inside.
The 1940s were a crucial time all over the world with hardships and wars going on for years. Within these wars, two little girls that have been apart of it their whole lives, have shared their experiences through a diary and a book of stories. The Diary of Anne Frank is about a young jewish girl named Anne Frank, who has to go into hiding with her family in order to not get caught and taken away by the Nazis in Amsterdam, and while in hiding, records her experiences and thoughts into her diary. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.
Anne Frank’s story has always loomed large in the hearts of several. It is a timeline of a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl who makes her way through the hardships the cruel life brings along with itself. In the red and white checkered diary given to her by her father for her thirteenth birthday, Anne wrote down her experiences, insights, and dreams in a voice clearly her own. “I don’t want to have lived in vain like most people,” she proclaims, “I want to be useful or bring enjoyment to all people, even those I’ve never met. I want to go on living even after my death!”
Turtle also went into the Westing house and got $24 out of it since she got $2 each minute. That takes guts on Halloween night. The text states that Turtle made a bet with the other characters, the bet was each minute she stayed in the Westing House

A little while back, Mrs. Beale and her family came across this one amazing young man named Jeffrey Magee. Jeffrey had nowhere to go, and was alone and lost; so they invited him to stay.
Rosa welcomes her by calling her sausmench but she still loves Liesel very much. For the first few months she was there, she would have nightmares about her family and it led to wetting the bed. One night she when she wet the bed, Hans came to clean it up and he found the book. She told him how she wants to learn how to read to know if the grave diggers buried her brother even though Hans only went to school until 4th grade.

One of my favorite creative works is a book called Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. I read the book back in the sixth grade and I fell in love with it instantly. The genre of the book is mostly fantasy and it also focuses about life and death. It is about a privileged girl named Winnie Foster, who ran away from home, meeting a family, The Tucks, who can live forever. Their secret is their own water spring supply in their
She loves taking care of me and siblings. My mom and I have a lot of stories to share. One was in six grade when I was in a bad place with a friend. I told my mom everything that happened.
