As a child, I wasn’t the loudest or most social person. In fact, I much preferred talking to rocks than people, and I had a fascination with dictionaries and encyclopedias. It was in the midst of August, on an extremely hot day where I couldn’t even bear to read as I left sweaty fingerprints when turning each page of my favorite book at the time- Anne of Green Gables. I was on the part where Anne had accidentally intoxicated Diana, when I heard the notorious melodic chimes of the ice cream truck and a chorus of children laughing and screaming. I mentally apologized to Anne for abandoning her as she got yelled at by Diana’s mother, and I quickly ran to grab a SpongeBob popsicle- the gumball eyes had always been my guilty pleasure. As I happily walked back, popsicle in my hand, I noticed a little slug on the side of the sidewalk. It’s awfully strange for a slug to be on the sidewalk with no shade… I thought as I remembered a book I read by David Gordon on gastropods. Then, it hit me, slugs can’t survive in this much heat for a …show more content…
I had been so caught up in creating an imaginary life for him that I had been totally oblivious to my surroundings and lost track of time. The sun was setting and leaving behind an alluring splash of red, orange and purple; as if the sky was God's canvas. Suddenly I felt chillier, the sun was no longer hitting my back. Sadly, I admitted that this meant Gastro was no longer in need of the protection and as much as I wanted to stay and chat, I knew my mom wouldn't want me out in the dark. I said goodbye to my unusually muted friend and headed home. That night, I slept knowing (or at least I like to think) that thanks to me and my shadow, Gastro could return home to his two kids just in time for their bed time story. If there's anything I learned from my slimy little pal, it's that there's always a reward in taking some time out of your day to make someone else's just that much

Thirteen year old Anne Frank with sweat rolling down her face did her best to keep up with her parents. It was early in the morning and her family was pretending to go for a stroll, when in fact they were going into hiding from the Nazi's. She knew this was a live or die matter. Anne was a young German Jewish girl who hid with her family in Nazi Germany and showed extreme bravery in the face of adversity. "Anne Frank was born Annelies Marie Frank on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany."

Anne and her family stayed in that space for two years until the Nazi’s found them and took control of them again. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a literary classic that has been censored and rewritten throughout the ages. Shrouded in controversy, Huck Finn has been banned since the day it was published. The reasons for this vary by the time period, and lately it has been banned because of its repeated use of the racial slur “nigger”.
Anne Boleyn was born in 1507 and died May 19, 1536, in London, England. She was the second wife of King Henry VIII of England. His first wife was Catherine of Aragon and by marrying Anne Boleyn he broke with the Roman Catholic Church. Anne Boleyn’s father was Sir Thomas Boleyn, later known as the Earl of Wiltshire and Ormonde. Anne spent part of her childhood living in France but later returned to England in 1522.
Anne Frank The Voice of the Holocaust Writer, diary, and inspiration are some words people often think of when they hear about Anne Frank. Many people know that she wrote a diary and was a Jewish citizen during World War II, but she was so much more. As a Jewish girl in hiding who experienced suffering and fear at such a young age, her story inspires hope and resilience in the face of death and destruction. Anne Frank changed the world by showing what life was like from the inside out of affected areas during World War II. She wrote her diary that helped others realise the true horrors of war.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Abstract The topic the researcher focuses on in this essay discusses the evidence of Jim’s role in Mark Twain’s novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. For example, Twain portrays Jim and Huck’s relationship as one important function that Jim plays during the entirety of the novel. Essentially, the friendship between Huck and Jim remains consistent, where separation brings anxiety and worries, and their reunion exudes relief and contentment.
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was not a required reading for me when I was in high school. In fact, this is the first I have read the book. I can see this book as the classic it is due to the complexity of the script, all the issues Mark Twain brings to light in the book, and the fact that you never really know what is going to happen next. This book sets the bar for many writers following Mark Twain. Mark Twain gives his characters a unique voice by writing in the dialect they would talk.
The Adventure Of Anne Frank Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929. She was raised in a Jewish family. Anne lived with her mother, father, and sister in their home. Her family had to leave from their home, to flee the horrors of the Nazi’s. The Nazi’s wanted to kill the Jewish people.
For my research paper, I plan to explore the fall of Anne Boleyn in order to find out how that affected the rest of her family as well as the political climate at that time. This would help us understand the effect Anne Boleyn’s execution had not only on her family but on the future of England. My first source is “The Rise and Fall of Anne Boleyn” by Retha M. Warnicke. This book reexamines the fall of Anne Boleyn but in terms of family politics as well as the alliances and power plays that got her there in the first place.
In this book report I will talk about the story “The diary of Anne Frank” the story is about a Jew girl called Anne who lived with her family in Germany in the second world war when a new German president called Adolf Hitler came with the idea that all Jew people were dangerous ; so her dad Otto Frank who worked in a bank came with the idea of moving to Amsterdam, Holland to be safer from the German army called the Nazis. Anne was a little girl who lived with her family: Otto Frank her dad, Margot her sister and Edith her mom. For her birthday in June 12 her father gave her a diary were she wrote everything that happened. Days later bad news came, a new German president called Adolf Hitler came with the idea that all Jew people is dangerous
In the excerpt from Anne of Green Gables, Anne declares that she took and lost Marilla's amethyst brooch because she felt that if she didn't confess, she would not have been able to go to the town picnic. Instead, her confession turned on her, and she was not allowed to go. If I was in the same situation, I would have politely explained that I really had no idea what had happened to the brooch. Even if Marilla still didn't believe me, it is always better to tell the truth. You can get into a lot worse trouble for lying than for accidentally losing something.
Oh, the dubious honor of being a teenage girl. At once rewarded with excessive responsibility and dismissed as foolish, teenage girls are callously dismissed by the artistic, musical, and literary communities as an unworthy audience. Bands with primarily teenage girls as an audience are derided as fluff and pop; critics fall over themselves to scorn novels written for teenage girls; and the world in general is quick to dismiss their interests as shallow, frivilous, and mindless. In such a culture, it is easy to assume that teenage girls, busy taking selfies, listening to Taylor Swift, and keeping up with the Kardashians, would find Anne of Green Gables to be a boring, antiquitated piece of mold predating the Flood. Relatability has become an important piece of modern culture.
The book that I read was Anne of Green Gables. Anne of Green Gables is about a young girl named Anne Shirley. Anne is a talkative, happy, and dramatic young girl despite being orphaned and living an impoverished life. Anne gets adopted by a man named Matthew Cuthbert. Matthew lives with his sister Marilla Cuthbert.
