In the essay, “Schoolwear Association Research Reveals Uniforms Can Be a Powerful Tool,” the printwear and promotion point to a study done by the Schoolwear Association disagrees and points out that having school uniforms will lower bullying caused by where they are from and economic class. My third and final point is school uniforms limit a students rights. School Uniforms may look really nice or even look professional but as we know things that look nice come with their “nice” price. Factories that make these school uniforms come back every year with $1 billion dollars in sales.
This is important because many students rely on the time given during learning lab to complete their homework and to also get help from teachers. Plus, it would eliminate the confusion of when and where it go on these activity days. Thus, benefiting the students, along with the teachers and faculty. I believe that it is easy to say what is correct and to have strong morals, the hard part is the action and initiative. Being educated in a predominately white school has thrusted a role of independance and leadership onto me that I am grateful to have developed, even with the challenges that come along with that role. I was expected to represent African Americans and Hispanics when I was the only student of color in a class, even though that role was not for me, or anyone, to have. Although students of color in the future should not be forced to face this adversity, I believe that it is my job to take on this role in order to pave the way for those kids of the future. My ancestors have fought the entirety of their lives so that I could be where I am today and I will do the same.
While I agree that ongoing assessments should be conducted, it seemed to be a little degrading for the paraeducator that the authors suggest positive feedback immediately. I think this it is a good thing to praise someone but the examples provided made it seem as though the paraeducator would be receiving the same positive reinforcement that we use on the children. Other than this, I thought the article was great and that it could be used not only in a classroom with paraeducators but that it would also be effective in communicating new strategies to all teachers.
