Anthem Reflection

The United States is built on freedom. Freedom is something we have all earned by the doings of the brave men and women. These men and women put their lives on the line each and every day for all of us. On Thursday we had a few speakers who talked about the protests going on during NFL and sports games. These protests are all taking place for the “unfair treatment” regarding unequal rights. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t agree with how all everyone in this country is treated but I do think that there is a time and place and during the national anthem is not the ideal time. Men and women have died for all of our ability to live here and be able to be free, we need to show our gratitude towards them. We all make mistakes, this allows us to learn and grow from them. that being stated our country and the people in our country have made mistakes, but that does not mean we have to follow in their footsteps. I know without a doubt that our country can get through anything and everything if we all stand together and fight for equal rights that everyone deserves. This needs to be done in the correct manners though. Personally, I have grown up in a Republican family setting. I have learned the way they view things but I also have a sense of whom and what I feel I am part of too. I am very young still and have a while till …show more content…

Some of the things that have been going on besides not standing for the national anthem are racial issues and terrorist attacks in our own country. We as a nation look like were falling apart. Many people don’t agree with the president and the actions he wants to take/ is taking. All of the problems in our country are allowing us to get deeper and deeper into a hole. this hole needs to be filled. We need to fix these issues and take action in appropriate manners, rather than manners that hurt, and disrespect
