Using funds from two great policies, The McKinney Vento Act and the Frank Melville Supportive Housing Act of 2010, great opportunities would have opened up for Liz’s family and enabled her mother and father to get the help they needed for issues such as substance abuse and mental health. The McKinney’ Vento Act could have utilized funds to assist Liz’s father maintain housing for himself as well as Liz. In addition, the funds could have also been utilized to create a macro project, which could have benefited not just Liz’s family and Liz during her times on the street, but also many others in the community.

Scottsboro Boys PB’s American Experience has impacted the view of racism towards blacks immensely. This event was a very prominent turning point in American history. The Scottsboro boys case has been one of the largest cases involving a black man (men) and a white women in the case of rape. This event has affected how people are judged now including taking age into consideration, not getting the facts correct, and the fact that black’s used to be very unfairly treated just because of the color of their skin. Laws, punishments, and law enforcement have changed very much since the 1930’s.

This issue has faced multiple controversies due to the belief of “complete confidence” of the criminal justice system (Harmon, 2004). Wrongful convictions have historically occurred due to the races of the defendant versus the race of the victim. This is an in issue because these cases impair the integrity and reliability of the court system (Harmon, 2004). Wrong convictions are not as uncommon as believed by the public.
African Americans came together to champion “Black Power”, Latinos for “Brown Power”, and Asians for “Yellow Power”. Among all these movements there was “Red Power”, the mobilization of Native Americans, but how they came to mobilize, what actions they took once they had joined together, and the consequences resulting from these acts are more complex than the simple phrase “Red Power” conveys. The state of affairs necessary to bring about this movement of native peoples was varied and severe.
