During my time in high school, I would get Bs and Cs, but now at Brookdale, I am getting grades I could only dream of and also enjoy learning athte same time. For example, the ALP was tough at first but during all the journals, the freewrites, and the essays were really were not so bad and they were easier because I paid attention to my professor on writing better and to make my emotions on paper,. To summarize how Brookdale was a good choice for me was I met good people, the courses, less money to spend, has a great hands on learning experience, and getting good grades. For all the new students in the ALP, learn and enjoy being in that program because that program really helped me learn two English courses in one semester so that
I am very glad that I attended the Discover Your Major Day event because I feel as though if I did not go, I would not have realized that I wanted to add a minor or a concentration to my four years of study here at the University of Memphis. The event met my expectations and even more. I did not know that I would get as much information as I did and that the faculty would be so voluntary to help. At first, I assumed that I would walk around to each of the tables, pick up information sheets, and take it with me to look over myself later on. But to my surprise, everyone was very helpful and I got all of my questions answered.
Although I was able to pass the class, and the passing grade on my AP test meant I got my grade boosted to an ‘A’ automatically, the failure I felt in the first couple of months was unlike anything I had experienced at that point. If I had not been desperate to find a better way to study, I wouldn’t have discovered that music soundtrack, and I might never have discovered Sierra Boggess and her powerful quotes. Even though I wasn’t happy at the time with my abysmal test and quiz scores, I’m glad I was able to learn this lesson that I am already enough, as it has changed my entire outlook on life so much. Now the next time I’m disappointed with a test score, or angry with myself for messing something up, I will be able to remind myself that I am always
I have learned so much from my high school american history course so far and I’m genuinely shocked by how interesting the information we are learning is. When I generally think about history it bores me but when I started learning about history this year everything changed. I think it’s very important to know history because without those historic events we quite possibly wouldn’t be where we are today. So that’s what I will be trying to do. Teach.
I now have a strong respect for the time I have to get my work done. Time management is often hard to grasp however, I have learned how to set goals for myself to stay on track. I often get frustrated when I mix-up of certain letters and I still have to re-read most texts or articles to grasp the concepts, but I am lucky that with the help I gained at St. John I was able to mostly outgrow the issue. Getting into the University of California Davis or any other UC seemed as if an unattainable dream, but my hard work throughout high school to get good grades and improve my test scores, culminated to an end up at a high level academic University. I believe this literacy I gained is functional due to the education system I grew up in.
In conclusion, with Business Administration being my major and Economics being my minor I would say this book not only helped but also motivated me into looking forward to what 's to come and what to expect. Throughout high school I always heard the name Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything and how great of a book it was, I always heard great recommendations about the book . It wasn 't until Economics class senior year in high school when I finally got a hold of a copy of the book but never actually read it. Now that I have it was worth the wait and was everything I expected it to be. Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything was very thoughtful and reached the minds of the readers.
But I try to ignore the comments I ask myself and try to be positive. I’ve also got in honors classes and I like the teachers I like they get us prepared for the next grade. In conclusion I loved every middle school year because of the teachers and the students. I’ve gone through many changes during middle school but I never knew they were so weird. But I’ve learned to adapt to this changed so it doesn’t feel as weird as the first time.
As this program helped my partner practice English, it also helped me gain self-esteem and confidence to express myself openly about what my academic and personal challenges were to the people who know me best. [In the summer and fall 2016, I was able to excel in my classes again because I was enjoyed the classes that I took, in addition to the help that I received. During fall quarter of 2016, I began my first computer science class, and was thoroughly interested in the subject. Although it was disappointing to repeat my English course, my second English course had provided me a new perspective to achieve better grade than previously. Despite the fact that I had to repeat my second computer class in Spring 2017, I was quicker to learn, manage my time, and present all of my course work clearly to excel in the
I will be getting “smarter” in my weaker subjects of college whether it be, math, science, history, or language. For example, I am not so great at history and if I stick to the effort, strategies, and help, I can grow in being better and more knowledgeable in history. It is never too late to learn something new. If I use these steps to my advantage, I will be successful in college. I can accomplish my goals with the help of the three steps I learned.
Introduction When I first saw the syllabus of this class, I was looking forward to doing the service learning project as I have only been to only one in the past. I believe that service learning is important as part of a quality college education because I believe that people learn best through experiences. Also, service learning is important as part of a quality college education because, during the service, there will be numerous opportunities for students to learn new things. For instance, I am a business major student but I know about the history of the Gold Park and the benefits of the plants there through the service learning project. Now, I also learn about the history of the Coast Salish Tribe and their culture.
