1. Cite an article relating to your study using APA format (it can be the article your group used or a different one). How does the techniques used in this article relate to the techniques used in your group project? (1-2 paragraphs) The techniques used in this article focused on the same squats (front and back) as we did. Just as we found, this study concluded that the back squat resulted in higher compressive forces than the front squats. This study as well as our group project, both used the bar, to assist in the squats. This study also used males and females. However, these individuals were experienced at performing front and back squats, which was different from our project. The same muscle groups were measured as ours (rectus fermoris and bicep fermoris). The particiapnts were given a five-minute rest period between each set. We provided a one- minute rest period between the squats (front and back). For five seconds the subject would maximally contract the knee extensors against manual resistance for 5 seconds, which is the same way we measured MVC. The participants would also be shaved when necessary for placement, which was something that we did not do (Gullett, J. C., Tillman, M. D., Gutierrez, G. M., …show more content…
The directions from the SENIAM link, was very helpful and it was great assistance in the placement. The SENIAM was very specific with pictures, which made it a lot easier to find the muscles (rectus and biceps femoris). Also, using the tape measure to make sure that the electrodes where in the correct places, also made placement easier. As I practiced with taking the sticky plastic off of the electrode, I began to feel a lot more comfortable with taking those off, to place the electrode in the desired location. In the beginning pulling the sticky paper off, was a bit of a challenge. However, it became more easier, which made me more
PAF 301 Written Performance Task 1. The two fitness tests I’m most proud of is my full sit ups in a minute and beep test results. The exercises I did in my three week fitness program to help me accomplish my 55 sit ups in a minute included a variety of core exercises. I’ve done side planks, sit ups, planks, russian twists, hollow holds, running mans, v-snaps, mountain climbers, plank jacks, wood chops and tuck extends.
I started to learn to create two citations between MLA “Work Cited” bibliography and one APA “References” Bibliography in Library class once a week. I am excited to learn about the citing sources as I did research other classes. I always made mistakes when I did a research paper and I had no idea how to create MLA style, and what was different between MLA format and APA format. The teacher taught me how to write in a paper format and use a Noodle Tools in a computer system.

This comes to prove that the case study athlete is on par with the athletes in the same division when it comes to squats, showing that his lower body is well developed like all the others. Being this strong can also mean that there is too much emphasis put on squats instead of other exercises which in the long term will certainly hinder performance and make the athletes unstable while performing in its specific sport, and that could possibly also increase the risk of
This paper will share my response to the questions about APA formatting. According to the Jones & Hurley, (2012) the main parts of an APA formated paper are the Title page, the abstract page, the main body of the paper, and the reference. In addtion, the three major learning takeaways for me was why APA is used, Who should used APA and the amount of items on the citation and reference list. The first take away really caught my attention as I began to review the the notes from Jones & Hurley, (2012) which stated APA was used to help all of the readers to understand the written text which is beig provided.
APA IN-TEXT CITATIONS In-text citations and references are COMPLETELY different things. 1. You must include them IN THE ACTUAL TEXT of your paper ANY time you use information from an outside source. a. Quote (cite directly after it)

The approach group 8 undertook was going about and splitting up the various components that led up to the corporation's business structure and value creation, by researching and writing about that specific topic and then coming together to make it flow as a single research report. Unfortunately, after receiving our Phase 1 group project mark, our group quickly realized we did not completely follow the rubric on Phase 1 and as a result our group received a poor mark. Our group also, forgot various components required for the APA format including, a table of contents, inputting in-text citations, having proper introduction and
When writing and submitting an academic paper, your title page is your first impression. A correctly done APA format title page helps establish the aptitude of the student or the writer, and gives the reader and reviewer (either your editor or your professor) a clear representation of the rest of your paper. An APA format title pagehas five essential elements: the article title, the author’s name, the author’s school affiliation, the running head and the page number.
You would no doubt hand out citations as a rookie police officer, however, as a graduate student writing papers, you don’t want your APA citations to reveal your rookie nature. I do welcome the validation from Schwartz, Landrum, & Gurung (2017) that APA style can have many challenges, and rookie mistakes do happen. For someone that has had no background with writing APA style, the easy manner in which to read An Easyguide to APA Style is appreciated. I only wish I had a photographic memory that could easily refer to all the rules that I’ve read. Since a photographic memory is not part of my brain structure, it’s best for me to remember that I am here to learn and as I tell my own children-to practice hard and try my very best.
Ironically though, the most commonly practiced bicep curl isn’t always executed well. Often times, according to trainer John Romaniello, people swing their “barbell or dumbbells up and down with momentum, rather than isolating the bicep to drive the weight up and lower it down.” In fact, I’ve seen that exact phenomena happen at the gym with a few of my friends. It’s almost like watching a weird hip-hop music video, with their arms flailing about and their upper body lurched forward.
Gathering articles within the same or relative area of content will allow us to see how they relate to each other through the theme pattern of commonality. 3) For those of you not working on qualitative research or literature review projects, which of the three analysis methods covered this week was the most interesting to you?
In chapter 1 of the APA Manual, the focus was to point out types of articles, ethical and legal standards in publishing, accuracy of scientific knowledge, protecting the rights and welfare of research participants, and protecting intellectual property rights (American Psychological Association, 2017). These sections are intended to help publishers ensure that their research is posted properly. The APA states, “research is complete only when the results are shared with a scientific community” (American Psychological Association, 2017). This means that to share with a community, you must follow the APA guidelines for doing so. When reviewing chapter 1 of the APA Manual, I found it to be very helpful with continuing research.
So the ability to strengthen the muscles, ability to get coordinated muscle contractions and proprioceptor stimulation from the joints are different in both exercises (Augustsson and Thomee,
