Claim #1 Is late start school really a good idea for students who want to attend extra after school activities? Students who want to do after school activities would not be able to do after school activities if they go to school later. If the school start time starts later you will get out of school later which will not leave enough time for after school activities like sports and even after school jobs. Students who will get out later will not have enough time for sports after school because it will get dark earlier as it gets closer to winter and you will get out of school later so there definitely will not have enough time for after school activities. The other thing is that the later you get out of school the colder it gets so when you get out of school later at night it will be cold outside in the winter time which will not leave any time for after school sports. All teenagers need about 8-10 hours a sleep per night to function correctly in the morning. However, we need to learn responsibility since we are growing up and are young adults. Going to school later will just hold us back and disable us from learning responsibility and some of the main aspects of an adult. Going to school later also means getting out later which leaves no time for exter after school activities like sports. Getting out later will also not leave enough time to go jibs after school which is what some families depend on to put food on the table and a roof over their head.
