Last year, handguns alone killed 48 people in Japan, 34 people in Switzerland, 8 people in Great Britain, and 10, 728 people in the United States. This proves how gun control laws are so essential to keeping people away from the threat that guns pose to society. Although guns might be used as a source of self-defense, an increase in the number of gun control laws are necessary to lower death rates due to guns, to ban weapons that account for much of the violence, and to eliminate the misinterpretation the second amendment for one 's selfish purposes. One reason why gun control laws are so crucial is to reduce the number of gun deaths in the United States.
The shootings that have happened in schools throughout America over the past few months has divided Americans on what they need to do as a nation to stop additional shootings from occouring. Many believe that creating new laws on buying weapons by requiring background checks, holding adults liable for the actions of their kids and requiring safety devices on weapons to stop youngsters will stop these massacres in schools from happening, it 's a step in the right direction, however, it 's not good enough nor is it effective enough, America needs well regulated gun laws and the politicians must understand that the laws should be based on facts, not opinions. There are several problems that need to be looked at in order to determine which laws are necessary. According to a recent study, America has the highest amount gun related deaths every year in the world. “Germany, has 371 gun related deaths, France 255, Canada 165, the united kingdom 68, Australia 65, Japan 39 and America, 11,200”.
Repealing Gun Control Firearms are a pretty big deal. The Second Amendment has been debated for centuries. Many believe our forefathers had set this for militias and not for individual rights, but the other amendments are for individual’s rights. The right to bear arms in the Second Amendment was written by men who started our country by using their firearms against a government of tyranny.
Guns should not be allowed in public places as they are violent and do more harm than good. Guns availability contributes to crime and violence. In the recent years it has been observed that the gun control legislation appear to have had a positive impact on gun related crime in many countries including Canada. So if guns are allowed the crime rate will go up and it will create violence in the society, too many people are getting killed for no God reason and kids may also be influenced by this and may do harm to their selves and others they are experiencing a normal childhood free from fear and worry at such an age.. Crazy people will shoot one another.
Gun Laws There have been many cases of murder, robbery, and rape that could have been stopped if more places allowed carrying of guns. If carriers could take a gun to more places themselves there would be less crimes in those areas due to trained carriers being able to protect others. If the laws were to be greatly increased, fewer areas would allow carriers; giving criminals, who do not abide by gun laws and would acquire them illegally, more opportunities to commit crimes knowing the people are defenseless. With more, strict laws in place most people would be unable to get a gun to defend their homes and families, while criminals are still able to get guns through illegal activities.
Gun Control We should have gun control because it would stop more shootings and it might help us with our lives a little bit more. If we have limitations to people who are ill or if they were arrested and they cannot buy guns or even own one. An example is in “(1968) they prohibited the sale of rifles by mail.”(A.Winkler). An example why we should have gun control is that in “2006 there has been a mass amounts of shootings 146 with more than 900 victims in Washington near a navy yard.
Gun control in Florida has lots of history and is also a major topic that politicians have to deal with. Some of the qualifications to own a gun in Florida should be at least 21 years of age, have no convicted felonies, and to have been diagnosed with any mental illnesses. There are safety measures being put into place by the politicians to make sure the wrong people are not able to buy a gun legally. Valverde (2014) found the following: By mid-December, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement had run 823,653 background checks, surpassing the 797,610 total checks conducted in 2012. The agency also ran an all-time high of about 13,500 checks during Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday through Sunday), about 200 more than the same period last
In recent times, the matter of gun control has increasingly heated up across the country. Whenever a national tragedy occurs that involves gun violence, the question on what to do about the United States’ gun control takes the centre stage. The tension debate regarding this issue has been going on a coon’s age as both the proponents and opponents of the gun control laws remain to stand firm for what they believe would suit the U.S. best. In my opinion, it is important to discuss this issue as limiting access to guns would progressively reduce the rate of gun violence in the United States of America. To support this idea, I will be focusing on two aspects, such as clearly defining the term of gun control as well as the falsity of “more guns, less crime”.
Mass shooting has been a problem since gun was made available to the public. There is no broadly accepted definition of the term ‘mass shooting,' many people uses the FBI definition in which 4 or more people are killed including the perpetrator with a gun. Mass shooting can be committed by a person or an organisation, but in recent times due to a rise in terrorism, most are committed now due to their beliefs. Many countries like United Kingdom and Australia have changed their gun laws in the wake of mass shooting. I am going to be looking at how gun laws are different in each countries especially between United States and Australia since they are so alike, and why one country could get rid of mass shooting but not another.
The mass shooting tragedies in Florida schools created a ripple about the popular and controversial debate about gun control. America should have more gun control laws, as they can help save dozens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of victims. Advantages of these gun restrictions are the decrease of gun-related murders, more thorough background checks to prevent giving guns to criminals or people with mental illnesses and the prohibition of high-capacity magazines. Nonetheless, the other side of the coin is education about guns should have a higher priority rather than actual gun control, as they do not prevent illegal possession of guns or one 's lower feeling of security. There should be additional gun control in America.
