They think it perhaps is “interesting.” How is it interesting if players are risking their health for a league to make a huge commission. This is a reason why football should be banned for people of all ages. Violence is not the answer to anything. It has been proven through studies.
Overuse and burnout injuries usually occur in sports like baseball/softball, running, tennis, and swimming. These injuries happen due to the repetitive movements of joints, these types of injuries usually happen in practice or training. About 50% of injuries every year are in some way related to overuse and burnout. Year round training on multiple teams is also a way that youth athletes get burnt out from all of the training. For many kids their goal is to make it to the professional level of play, but the real goal for youth athletes should be to achieve lifelong physical activity and healthy competition.
Football, an incredibly dangerous sport, has caused debate on whether parents should allow their kids to participate in this barbarous activity. One of the reasons football has become an issue is because of the multiple head injuries and deaths caused by helmet to helmet contact. Playing football can hurt your body in a physical and mental way and this could put a child 's future in danger. The negatives of football significantly outweigh the positives of playing the sport, therefore parents should not allow their kids to play such a treacherous and hazardous sport. When playing football, players experience big, powerful and painful hits.
Football should be banned in the United States because it can lead to a concussion, can cause brain damage, and can even kill you. When anyone plays football whether it’s professional, college, or high school you can get a concussion. A concussion is also known as traumatic brain injury(TBI), a concussion is caused by the violent movement or jarring the head or neck. Most cases of brain injury are concussions. People who suffer from concussions generally fully recover fast.
Youth sports are an intricate part of our society. They teach kids from a young age how to work together as a team, which they can then build on and use in other facets of their lives. Concussions in youth football are at an all-time high, only because they weren’t (B3)kept track of until recent years.
Concussion “Smack”! “Bam”! That 's the sound of two helmets colliding. This can result in serious head trauma and concussions. I believe that concussions are being continuously being prevented in sports like football and that the argument of concussions not being prevented well is not completely true.
Although some football enthusiasts believe that children under the age of twelve should play tackle football because it promotes friendship and teamwork, the negative impact that the sport has on the brains of adolescent males outweighs the comradery that the sport teaches. Children play the sport without thinking of the effects of the brain injuries. Through interviews with past players as well as scientific studies, researchers have found that the cognitive ability of males (average age of early fifties) is greatly affected by the age in which the young player began playing (Boston University School of Medicine). Boston University’s Dr. Robert Stern said the concern is not from concussions, it is from, “subconcussive hits: these hits that don’t necessarily result in the symptom right then, but people can get hundreds of them a year.”
Topic: Why schools should spend more money on equipment to protect athletes from concussions and other injuries. In today’s society sports rule the lives of kids of all ages. Football, being one of the most popular, is on the decline because of the recent studies of NFL players having CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) causing early death and brain/memory problems. WIth these studies parents are starting to pull their children from playing football at a young age to try and reduce the risk of head injuries in general.
People say it is the coaches’ fault and they should do more about the issue. Others also say it’s the kids for getting into the sport knowing the risks as they pertain to the sport of football. Parents also say that the sport is too physical and should reduce physical contact. Life ending injuries in sports could be reduced
Every year, more than 3.5 million children under the age 14 need treatment for sports injuries, with nearly half of all sports injuries for middle and high school students caused by overuse(Inetwork, 2017). This means that kids are being worked out to hard and play too much. Kids should not have to practice their sports everyday. 1.35 million kids a year get a serious injury from playing sports that are too competitive. It is getting to a point where the kids are not even having fun when they are playing sports, they are just playing it to win.
The brain does not only get injured during concussions. Minnesota says that any given professional player can receive up to 1500 blows to the head each season. Multiple seasons of football can lead to serious damage, and diseases like alzheimer 's. More precautions should be taken by the NFL to prevent brain damage from
Current players are more at risk because the game of football is becoming more violent and players are getting injured more often(Vrentas). But the public 's problem is not just with the NFL but also with middle school, high school, and college football because it is at that age when the players are most at risk(Barra). Parents are preventing kids from playing football because of the high risk for injury and fear that their children will suffer from a concussion and be permanently harmed. One of the main reasons the general public is beginning to shy away from football is all of the risks and past injuries.
Since the brain can 't give signals to specific parts of itself, the body starts to shut down some of its functions due to the decaying brain tissues that start to form as soon as the CTE takes over. The functions being shut down are the same signs and symptoms of when a football player has had reoccurring concussions during their football seasons. But again, the only to actually see the evidence is to look deep inside the brain and the only way to do that is to perform an autopsy on the body. Mainly scientists use deceased football players when viewing CTE at a closer viewpoint to get a better understanding of what they are
Football: A Popular sport among all americans played, from toddlers to adults. Although it might be fun and games, football is the leading cause of deaths of thousands of players from brain injuries such as concussions. Due to large amount of brain development issues, highschool football should not be played. Many cases of brain damage due to concussions at such a young age can cause young children to lose focus in school.
All players wear this equipment because they know what risks they take while playing the game. If they did not wear any gear while playing they would sustain multiple injuries because they would not have anything protecting their bodies or heads. Even though the players wear helmets, the NFL has also cut down on allowing helmet to helmet contact.
